No, if it's not in the X360 version it won't be in Steam. Doesn't hurt to ask for features, and I'm pretty sure Degica notes them for possible future patches, but don't hold your breath.

That said, I'm always interested in knowing what's being said in-game so I'd like English voiceovers (or even subtitles) as well.

When DFK was released for mobiles, in the West it came with (really quite good) English voicework. As far as I know, this was the only release to feature alternative voiceovers.

Any chance that English voicework will be making it into the Steam release at any point?

Is there any way to play it nowadays? Legit or not, just to know.

I thought dodonpachi resurrection was still available on iphone devices; that their games were only defunct on android. It still shows up in the itunes store, but I don't actually have any apple devices to try and put it on.

I was playing it on my iphone 20 mins ago...*

Also, regardless of whether the game works now, the point is that Cave have the files for the English voicework. I'm not an expert but wouldn't think it's the hardest task to swap the wavs?

A little DLC sweetener later on, may-bee?

So any indication of a rough release date or plans to talk about it?

I'm aware that it's a beta build but seeing that certain unknown youtube channels have access and the previous date seemed to be September 9th I would assume it's due fairly soon now. The relative silence around the games release in general is strange.

I get the feeling it'll be doing much worse numbers than Deathsmiles did which was already considerably lower than Mushi.

Don't think it's going to come out for at least another month: https://twitter.com/DegiGames/status/774710426294595585

The lack of communication is pretty frustrating. They also said a number of times in August that beta applications would be available "soon". Seems like that isn't happening either?

Information is going out very soon, and in a way that when I say very soon it is set in stone. There were some changes to our timeline over the last month or two due to a few major events we are working around and with.

Hi Nick, please see above ^^

Is there any hope of getting the English language voicework that was included with the smartphone version?

I personally think it makes the game accessible to a wider Western audience, who may not appreciate e.g. the Japanese language at the Select Ship screen.

I'll bring it up with our CAVE liaison.

Also, fun bit of news.

Coming Soon: Leaderboards for JUDGEMENT SILVERSWORD!

And of course, the most important piece of information to take from this: You can see I scored the highest out of all the Degica staff. I feel this is important for everyone to know before it opens to the public and I'm ranked 498,302nd

Hopefully replays can be added later.

I am going to need to derust on this game quite a bit. Used to be able to 1cc Normal pretty easily but now have trouble with it. Can't play it on 360 now since I haven't been able to get it to work for a while, and I've mostly ignored the Steam release due to lack of leaderboards(I do own it, I just barely played any). Still not interested in owning Eschatos through Steam unless I were to somehow win a copy.

I asked recently on the steam forums

"Could you patch in the ability to use the shield by holding both shot buttons à la eschatos?
After playing eschatos so much, I can't seem to unlearn this and I always forget to push the shield button :D "

Would that be possible? To patch in an option to enable this in the menu's?

the problem with that is then you'd cause problems with one of the game's techs. Holding forward shot and repeatedly pressing wide shot lets you shoot both of them at the same time.

Pretty sure every default ship clear here used that, and it's pretty much a must on Hard Mode(and some parts of Normal). Even when it's not necessary for survival(say Area 27 any mode), it's still useful for scoring since you can clear the waves of enemies more quickly and miss a lot less of them and area bonuses are based on how quickly you clear the area.

None of this applies to the secret ship, and such a feature would not interfere with its gameplay.

Pretty much this.

And remember that shield takes priority over wide takes priority over forward. (you could literally play the whole game with forward shot taped down.)

Holy crap. I did not know about the forward + wide trick.

I assumed it was either/or like Eschatos. This is a game-changer for me.

Oh, I did not know that. Just recently picked it up in the steam sale.
Thanks, I'll keep at it.

So I couldn't sleep so I played some more Silversword. Got my score up to 6,185,990. Feel like I could get higher, too. The other Degica Staff will never touch my score mwahahahaha. (I enjoy being the slightly bigger small fish in the small pond).

7,182,430. Take that, Degica scrubs!

Blimey, one game of that at a time, I think. I don't know whether to thank Chaos Phoenixma for the "repeatedly pressing wide shot" tip or to just punch him full in the face with the swollen, arthritic, tendinitis claw I'm laughably still calling my fist.

Awesome news about the leaderboards! I have to ask those who have the xbox360 version of JSS though--does the Steam version feel faster? I swear it is.

I did notice that it was running at 75fps when I was playing earlier and after a quick google, learned that that was how the original wonderswan version ran

Maybe the 360 version ran at 60fps vsynced and that made it 1 fifth slower?

Would adding in autofire options for JSS be too much to ask? The hold forward + tap wide trick really hurts my fingers

Could the addition of a non-filtered scaling option be considered for JSS/CS? And/or a non-scaled window? [Edit: Also an option to remove the wallpaper?]

I must be missing something here.
Tried the forward + wide trick, but all I have to show for it is a wrist in pain.

Even on easy the last boss is ridiculous.

I'm excited about the JSS leader boards. Gives me a good reason to revisit that game more seriously. I usually play it some when I'm wore out since its simple and fun.

All the people asking about release date for DFK and I've just been taking bets with myself for when the steam coming soon page is put up. I thought it was going to happen last Thursday since it looked like all the content for the page was at http://www.caveshmups.com/dodonpachi . I don't know what all goes into getting store page up though.
