Nope, but once the revision disc is possible budget-wise, I let you know this via the blog for sure. Hopefully this year.

The only thing I currently can tell you is, that the game is sould-out at hucast.net and the revision disc is still depending on the budget.

I'm really disappointed on the delay and the way this issue with Dux is being treated, with no solid forecast for a correction.
After all, the game is downright flawed and unplayable - under a hardcore standpoint - and I really wish I could play it because I like the art design, the music and the overall feel of it.

I think there should be a note on the main hucast.net blog about these issues and any ongoing action that's being taken (or not) in order to address the patched disc. It sure isn't nice for a product that should be as polished as it sounds, but it would be an honest attitude towards those who trusted the developer from day one.

The game is perfectly playable unless you're one these players who play shmups on score only (those normally don't bother with DUX anyway) So the score bug is only a issue for players who wants to play DUX on score, which aren't many. I actually can't see anyone playing the game on score besides Plasmo at all. Same with Pink Bullets.

I understand your disappointment though, and I release a revision disc as soon as I can.

RHE definitely got a point here. Many people are complaining about DUX being unplayable, but I'm quite sure that noone would play it anyway if it would get fixed.
That said, I of course can't wait for the patch, because I know for sure that I'd play DUX for score.

i think youve got a point there, since ive yet to 1cc a r-type / gradius like game i wouldnt be playing for score. Maybe if i completed it then i might play for score to get some extra milage from the game but if i was to be honest with myself i would most likly move onto another game and only revisit it now and again to try to repeat the 1cc and not for score.

I think that as soon as we hear the words buggy and broken then many ppl tend to run a mile instead of asking themselve weather the bugs will actually affect them or not.

I havent read most of this thread so forgive me if this has been said b4, but instead of releasing a disk/ game with the bug fixes wouldnt it be better to take a leaf out of cave's book and release a black label version of DUX along with the bug fixes and the original version?

Drama has been cleared out.

Lets be real here, this game is on dreamcast and is cd based, that means if you can play the game you can play burned games. Why not just fix the bug, post a downloadable iso (or whatever format people use for DC games) on the hucast website.

I don't think anyone would have a real issue with that and it would be cost effective.

I could be wrong, but I hear that it's not such a hot idea to play CD-R's on your Dreamcast (or any other earlier CD ROM-based consoles for that matter) for any extended length of time, as it tends to "overwork" the laser or whatever - contributing to its early demise. So, replicated CD's are inherently more favorable as a result.

You might be right but I believe the quality of the cdr itself has more to do with it than anything. I've been playing burned DC games for so long and have yet to have a problem with them.

Putting an ISO online is not the kind of professionalism you'd expect from a game you paid money for and got a physical copy of. I really doubt it's going to happen this way.

Don't think there's any difference but just to be safe, get a second DC for 500 yen and you are set.

I'm sure people who lived in Japan longer than me has seen even better deals than 500 yen for a loose DC

I thought the revised disc was out ages ago. I just found out only the bugged version is out. Hmm, it seems hucast has given itself a reputation.
