No shit? I thought the big capitalized words "PARODY ACCOUNT" at the top and his historic profile pic meant that he's posting from Windows Phone.

Moving right along, if the Xbox One's design reminds me of some forgotten early '90s set-top edutainment console, the PS4's twin towers are a Cray supercomputer.

Edit: Speaking of things, I noticed a guy dressed as Altair in the "Greatness Awaits" ad...hmm. No idea what Ubisoft is up to but as the twitter says, "Between this and Watch_Dogs, Ubisoft has become the official publisher for the Libertarian Party."

Killer Instinct is digital, FTF with one character unlocked from the get go. Hahaha. MS are getting bummed hard enough as it is, without keep shooting at their own feet.

I really can't believe they're planning on just binning the market like a frayed sock.

They might as well have called it the MassGearsDutyBox. Who the fuck would want to buy that?

Any information on how much noise this (and the XBoxOne) produces when running? If it's anything like the current XBox you won't be watching a movie through it unless you have headphones. You'd have thought that the new tech would include some innovative cooling system (read water) that does not rely on air so that I don't have to play games and watch movies to the sound of an industrial vacuum cleaner.

Some reports are suggesting that the Xbox One will be released in several asian markets (Hong Kong, Singapore, India for instance), but there is no mention of a release in Japan.
And the launch in Asia is... "Late 2014"

CEO Kaz Hirai traditionally piss-takes Sony products and strategy more than Microsoft stuff, FYI.

Although here's a classic from Feb. 2011:
Kinect reminds me of Justin Bieber: inexplicably popular and seriously under-developed.
His comment from 19 hours ago is lovely, too:
People talk about Nintendo at E3 like they are a third political party in a US Election
The account would be much better if he posted less, IMO.

Like dis homeboy:

As this was the first image of it that I saw, I instantly thought X68000, which brought joy to my heart. Sadly I couldn't detect it's angularity until I saw it laid flat, which is disappointing a bit. I don't like the angularity so much, but I do like its weenie size. If only it could have been even closer to the X68k remodel I initially thought it was (minus the bulk/weight) that would have been most heart-warming.

By that point they may as well have people trying to sell them on street corners. The market will be pretty PS saturated I would imagine.

Actually that looks about the same size as an XVI Compact (having seen both Dual Shock-sized controllers and XVI Compacts in my time).

No clue if this has already been said... From facebook PlayStation page (source= https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... e=1&ref=nf ):
"Just now from E3: PS4 supports used games! "PS4 won’t impose any new restrictions on your use of PS4 game discs. PS4 disc-based games don’t need to be connected online to play. If you enjoy single-player games offline, PS4 won’t require you to 'check in' online periodically. PS4 games won’t stop working if you haven’t authenticated in 24 hours.” We heard you! Not Region Locked
Did anybody clarify if they're gonna continue to region lock their PSN store access? Where all the games I'd want will be?

So:
+No region lock
+No restriction on used games or online checks
+User accounts work like on the PS3 where you can make multiple accounts for various regions with content shared between accounts
+399€$
+No camera or Move bundled with console
-Paid online
-Lack of interesting exclusives
Happy about no region lock and no account restriction BS like the Vita has. I'm quite interested to see how TGS will be and how will the Japanese 3rd party devs go for the next gen. If most games will go multiplatform and also be on PC I don't really see any reason to even get a next-gen console.

Well my bomberman party fetish is going to be expensive if they don't let you use dualshock 3 controllers on it. I think its rather unfair of them to make you purchase 3 or 4 of these new controllers.

i'll just keep the ps3 for that. The PS3 will stand on its own against this thing. Why wear out your BD disc player in the PS4 when you have 3 PS3's sitting idle?

This new generation is going to be very interesting. One hand it looks like the Xboner is going to have a lot of nice exclusives in the future, since it sounds like they have deals with big AAA developers like EA. I’m sure those dev’s like EA, Ubisoft, etc, lobbied MS to include the draconian DRM as they are huge into that on PC. On the other hand, the PS4 seems more consumer friendly, but will have to rely more on Sony owned or Sony exclusive developers. Sony’s big indie push is a good sign too.

It’s too early to tell who’s going to win or lose the next console cycle, but it looks like Sony’s learned from their early mistakes with the PS3 and actually listening to their customers.

Too bad both consoles are fugly. Both MS and Sony need to fire their box design teams.

Can't say I disagree with this. Don't understand Sony though: their handhelds are always sexy and they have a long history of smart electronic design, yet the original PS3 phat (and its accompanying font) remain a triumph of horror, and the latest top loading PS3 revision is abominably ugly. The PS4 is at least better than those two.

It'll look better when they release the guaranteed white variant.

I always thought the fat PS3 was a great looking console. Though I agree on the the super slim, what a joke.

I also thought the original white Xbox360 was a great looking box too. It's shocking how both new consoles look so similar.... and bad.

In 2013, war was beginning. Ball's in our court now...I have to breathe a sigh of relief that the far better-engineered console is also coming without tons of shitty business decisions - if this situation was reversed it would be pretty bad.

I wonder, though, the market's always been big enough for two consoles in the past. But a lot of that happened during an era when consoles really did have (good reasons for) marked differences between systems (it's still true, but for the wrong reasons, and didn't have to be so).

"Xbox One Territory"

Edit: By the by, here's a look into Microsoft operating in a very familiar-looking way in a totally different market. "The lessons" are totally interchangeable between Xbox One and their professional/server OS markets.

Well I can't see it.

Oddly shaped convex upper sitting on square misaligned base: check

Utterly enormous: check

Attracts fingerprints and dirt like it's a forensics lab: check

Weighs as much as a small black hole: check

Has the ugliest Spiderman font imaginable on its lid: check

Not Sony's finest hour imo. The slim follow up on the other hand is the best looking console they've made since the PSP (if you remove Vita from the equation.) Better than the PS4 anyhoo.

This next generation is likely one of the most important ever. The decisions consumers make will determine the future of our hobby. If people gobble up the XBoner despite all it's faults, it will send a message to Manufacturers and Developers that we'll take all the constant DRM, etc.... If it dies an ugly death (and hopefully humbles EA and Ubisoft) then it will send a message that we won't take that crap.

Lol, true on those points there. However, I'd prefer a larger console with a built in power supply.

I hate how my Xbox360 S has a power supply that's half the size of the console, makes cable management a nightmare.
