Mars Matrx - discovered stupidly obvious but awesome strategy for chaining the stage 2 boss. I no longer think this boss is lame. Now to make boss 3 un-lame. 8)

Well, I'm taking a haitus from Gradius V to "brush up ma skills" in Gradius III (arcade). I'm practicing it three different ways, it's nuts!

1. Mame+ for rapidfire
2. Mame for somewhat working save states
3. Gradius Portables version (saves and rapid supported)

But I plan on buying the GIII + IV set off P-A this weekend, because I realized I'm serious enough to attempt the 1cc on GIII. I recently got the fire stage (stage 7) figured out, just need to fine tune my performance a bit. Soon, I can begin practicing stages 8-10. Also, thanks to Alamone's youtube vids, I've been able to take down the maoi heads a bit easier. Good times. I have a feeling I'll be working on it probably untill I nab the 1cc... I dunno, not many other games are entertaining me lately. Do plan on going back to Gradius V and beating the dude above me's score though. =D

Dragon Blaze (thanks Rob) Easily my favorite Psikyo game, the whole dragon/rider, dragon attack thing is very fun.

There are 3 games I need to finish badly: DoDonPachi, ESP Ra.De, and touhou koumakyou, and I know I can 1cc them all in a row if I just make the effort, though this probably isn't going to be as easy with ESP Ra.De. (In the case of thkmy, I'm going to be nice to it and try to beat Extra and Hard too)

Games I'm working on now are Strikers 1945, Patriot Dark, and Twin Hawk. If I get any 1ccs with the above, I may even start playing guwange seriously. I hope so!

And of course, I'm ready for the unannounced and upcoming game whenever the tournament starts. I don't care what it is, it's going down or at least getting bruised.

Non-shmup fixes for now mainly consist of KOF97 and Fatal Fury 3 in the versus-fighting department, as well as slight progress in Need For Speed Underground 2. I also enjoy popping in Namcomuseum every now and then, though that might crossup into shmup territory; I'm always looking to get 100K in Galaxian, that's for sure.

That sounds about it for now.

Just discovered Out Zone, and it's one hell of a great game! Been playing for a couple of days, and can already make it to the 6th boss. Just a little more for the 1cc.

EDIT:

Ikaruga. This game has slapped me and clearly told me: LRN2CHAIN. I can barely make it pass stage 4 in one credit and there I get totally massacred (and I think I might not be the only one, right? lol, please)

Also being playing a bit of PatriotDark, Touhou 11, Darius Gaiden and Layer Section. Had to stop with Diadra Empty... That thing is damn addicting.

Strikers 1945 II. Just made it to 1-5 for the first time (in any Psikyo stg also) and promptly died. I feel like a 1CC is possible someday.

Aside from this week's tournament game, I've been playing Shikigami No Shiro III (360), Senko No Ronde Rev X (360) in score attack mode and the odd game of Ikaruga Broke-Ass Edition (XBLA).

And you guessed wrong.

I've played several matches online. I'll normally always check the Network for a minute or two to see if any sessions are active before I head into the local modes.

Subterranean Animism - Parsee is an asshole, the rest of it is awesome

Blue Wish - This game should be held up on a pedestal, for it proves that shmups don't need to be pretty to be fun; and boy is that game not pretty.

Shuusou Gyoku - GrazeGraze Die. GrazeGraze Die. GrazeGrzae...

I've been playing a bit of Triggerheart Exelica and it seems ok so far, although at this point I wouldn't say it is anything special. I'm starting to figure out how to use the shield/toss system and I've figured out how to 'grow' the medals by keeping them on screen for as long as possible.

The problem is I picked up Geometry Wars 2 at the same time and that game is console crack.
