Reminds me of the "robot porn" they show on Futurama every once in awhile, heh heh.

I dunno about you, but I much prefer my T&A IRL. My missus does it right for me. :)

But if you get off on hand-drawn pictures, that's cool too. It takes diff'rent strokes to make the world go 'round.

The art looks awesome, thats all I care about. Sure a new cave game that featured huge bulky bearded men flying spaceships around would be awesome, but I dont mind either way.

Or, bulky bearded men without spaceships. How about Brian Blessed in Flash Gordon? That would actually be awesome - replace the characters in ESPgaluda wth birdmen.

Maybe I can point out again that the age of consent in Japan is 16 (Reko's age). Kasumi from DOA is 16, has big knockers, yet nobody ever seems to complain about her. It's only on this forum that we hear complaints about Reko's age. But really, I would never have known what her supposed age is if it wasn't for people on here. But I still don't care. What I hate are the lolicon doujinshi with 8-year-olds with their coochie cracks spread wide open, like the one I passed by in Mandarake Shibuya a couple of months ago.

Anyhow, that Scorpions cover is what people should be complaining about. Real child pornography is something to complain about, not simulated (drawn).

Only between rampant sex marathons.

She might be the jealous type, but she makes up for it elsewhere. :)

Because hardly anyone plays DOA, and those who do are too embarrassed to admit it. :P

September? Wow, only a month away. Can't wait. It'll probably debut at the AOU show, then go up for sale at the end of the month. If there's no port for this, I have a feeling it'll be the game that makes me buy a supergun plus the PCB.

ugh, i sent NTSC-J a paypal payment for the 1st one on PS2 and I am excited to get... I hate waiting for a game I'm eager for. I have been waiting for a responce from him about it but he hasn't logged on recently. I'm not bitching about it..... just like I said I've got to much anticipation worked up now.

this board has shown me some GREAT shooters that I missed out recently on. can't believe I overlooked them. mostly it's do to me not having any sort of knowledge of how good cave is. i saw so many refer to dodonpachi that I tried out the rom and was SOLD. i have that on PS1 and picked up Ibara. Now I need to get the PS2 dodonpachi and espgaluda....

spot-on.. proboably..

such a quick release suggests there will be no hardware alterations neither, sh3 just like galuda 2 and pinksweets, i guess this proboably means no PS2 port too.. better get your wallet out

I'm really glad I've convinced myself not to shell out for the brand new PCB. I'll wait until it drops. Wouldn't mind it. Just wish this fucking business trip I'm on now was pushed back a month, to coincide w/ the show. O_o

Well, Mushi and Ibara were on the same hardware and they got ports. So the hardware isn't a great argument against the possibility of a port. And I'd bet we'll see ports of all these games (Galuda 2, Pink Sweets, and Mushi 2). Probably PS2, but who knows. Maybe some next gen hardware.

In any case, if there's no Mushi 2 port announced by next summer, I'm buying the damn PCB. Should be about $1000 for the board by then. I might have actually bought it in September had I known earlier, but I just shelled out $1500 for a Yamaha Motif ES6 synth workstation so my funds are quite strapped atm.

i dont think well see any ports of it, been playing galuda 2 a bit and (concidering the buthchery that was the mushimesama port) i just cant see the PS2 pushing it within any acceptable limits...

with that said no-one knows anything about mushimesama 2 but i highly doubt it will be technically inferiour to galuda 2 ??

Galuda 2 has so much to do w/ bullet speed (I think there's a total of 5 bullet speeds) that if that "strobe" slowdown effect is there, it will kill the game. I can only assume that's part of the problem w/ the yet to be hinted at port.

Except for the whole 'PS2 port is /missing/ some slowdown' thing? My only complaint with the Mushi port was the shitty filter they smeared on the graphics in yoko mode. I've got a PCB incoming now because the blur upset me so much.

I was equally as pissed of the filtered/smeared graphics in TATE. Great PCB to have. Very happy w/ mine.

Just got my copy of the Taito Best edition. I don't think they changed anything; you only have yoko, tate L and tate R to choose from in the video options screen.

It doesn't look all that ugly to me on an interlaced television set. It looks better than Ibara does, but this might be because Ibara features more details and thinner outlines.

Play the PCB more. Plenty of changes. Then again, if you're not anal about your games, it very likely won't bother you. Grown men that play games from a 25 year old genre are more likely to be such people.

Howmuchkeefe - if you would be so kind, play stage 5 in maniac and watch the 4th pattern of the midboss. Does it slowdown? The original PS2 release doesn't slowdown there like the arcade, and it's quite a bit harder. I was hoping they'd possibly fix this (at it would take about 2 seconds for them to do it!!), but they probably just slapped out the same code for the best re-release. :(

btw sorry for the OT.

I'd bet my left ball the best of is the exact same as the original. I don't see them making any coding changes for a budget release.

Is the taito best version different and upgraded... or does it suck like the original print?

I think everyone is misunderstanding everyone else in this thread. The art of listening is lost!

howmuchkeefe meant to say:

"Just got my copy of the Taito Best edition ON PS2. I don't think they changed anything SINCE THE FIRST PS2 PORT".

GaijinPunch: he was not referring to the arcade version at all. We are all well aware of the arcade version being (a) ~240-line progressive scan (no interlace flickering) and (b) non-filtered (no muddy/blurry graphics).

And to those asking: no, the new "Taito Best" version is not different to the first PS2 release. It is the exact same game, but now at a lower price point, and with a shiny sticker on the front saying "Taito Best". It's akin to the "Platinum" games we see locally on store shelves which are the same game as always but re-released at a budget price point.

Yes, I know. He clarified that in a subsequent post.
