Re: XII ZEAL coming to Steam, courtesy of Degica
Last time I checked (which was a few days ago) I was #8 on the leaderboards!
By now I've probably been bumped out of the top ten, but I'm gonna be making a comeback! Just you wait...
I'm gonna take that #1 slot some day, and I'll be the king of obscure arcade game land (or at least a baron)!

You were in 9th, I just bumped you down to 10th earlier todaycave hermit wrote:Last time I checked (which was a few days ago) I was #8 on the leaderboards!

Meanwhile, I got the achievement for the Red Sports Car (which appears early in Stage 3), but which level does the 'Old Fighter' appear on?

So true! In fact I thought I was purchasing the complete DeltaZeal pack from 360. I did only not ask for a refund to support the genre.Pretas wrote:As I said, I'm not buying it until you release DeltaZeal on Steam to complete the 10th Anniversary set. Why didn't you just straight-up port the 360 collection, with both games bundled together in the same program? Any yokel could have told you that splitting them up would be a dumbass decision, and it's not as if DeltaZeal was ever sold separately to begin with. Sure, I can acknowledge that sales of these games will be low no matter what you do, but they would at least be BETTER.
Was this all Degica's fault, or did the directive to dole out individual games to the Steam gaijins for as long as they keep selling (read: never, if they're not bundled) come from Triangle Service themselves? I'm inclined to assume the former.

It appears on stage 6, close to the end of the stage.DocHauser wrote:Which level does the 'Old Fighter' appear on?
I don't know what it actually looks like though; I got the achievement by accident.

There is also the possibility that it was never part of the plan to include of "XII Stag/XIIZEAL" in the Xbox One "Shooting Love. Trilogy" (e.g. ΔZEAL/TRIZEAL/EXZEAL) release - so releasing it as a "left over" to the PC market wouldn't incur any risk of cannibalizing Xbox One "Shooting Love. Trilogy" sales (if that release is in fact still "a thing").cave hermit wrote:Or, consider this:

Ok, turns out the "old fighter" appears just before the pair of large turret cannons:
it's a medium sized ordinary looking plane on the right side of the screen, just in front of the platforms holding up the aforementioned turret cannons.
Once it scrolls into your view it'll immediately begin to move underneath the turret cannon platforms, but you can destroy it before it does so.
Destroying the plane is worth a base value of 10,000 points (which presumably means a massive 120,000 points if your multiplier is maxed out at 12!)

Thanks for the info on that cave hermit, I'll try to add this to the stage 6 info on the ST thread once I get time.cave hermit wrote:Ok, turns out the "old fighter" appears just before the pair of large turret cannons:

Well, I decided to just go ahead and make a steam guide listing every secret I know of: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =478449449
I also posted the same information in the strategy section of the forum so it can be incorporated into the original post.

It was announced on this page.

Good on Triangle Service for being so active on social media and for trying new things this year (Shooting Love 200X GoD release and the Steam ports). I might not like their games as much as Qute's or MOSS', but they seem to be doing a much bigger effort in getting their games played by people compared to the other 2 companies I mentioned.Blackbird wrote:Yes, really! Triangle Service even says so =D

Random request/question: anyone played this on a system with a faster than 60Hz display? Does it run too fast/require a frame rate limiter in video card control panel/profiles etc?

Running 60hz but if your video card control panel forces vsync off then the game will run stupidly fast on fullscreen mode from my experience. May be handy to have a custom config for these games if you tend to do a lot of messing around with that sort of thing.zakk wrote:Random request/question: anyone played this on a system with a faster than 60Hz display? Is the verdict in already?Blackbird wrote:Thinking about it now though, it may be possible to offer a DRM-free version of the game on Humble Store. I'll look into this.

Sad to see lack of love for this game.
Steam discussions are abandoned, and even guys in hi-score thread here dislike the game.
For me XIIZEAL is awesome. Bought it instead of Mushihimesama (alongside with J.Silversword and Strania) and never regret it.
Is there a way to reset scores, btw? I played some stages in score attack with autowiggle so score was higher than i could do it manually. I like it without autowiggle more as it feels very badass to do it manually and also more risking as you loose attention and can easily die.

It's a nice enough game with the usual Triangle Service secrets and routes. Not sure how anyone can play it without autowiggle though, side attack is so crucial to scoring that it's knackering doing it manually!
Triangle Service's more old-school feel means it's a bit niche in an already niche community, probably why the interest has died down. It probably deserves a bit more love but I'll bet twelvetwelvetwelvetwelvetwelve puts a few people off!

Re: XIIZEAL coming to Steam, courtesy of Degica
I have a soft spot for the game, perhaps mainly because I probably I invested a ton of time into it compared to any other shmup. Objectively I think it's kind of mediocre, but I still like it for whatever reason.

Re: XIIZEAL coming to Steam, courtesy of Degica
I use keyboard so I press left/right as crazy to wiggle though I know with autowiggle you can both wiggle and move up/down your ship but for now I feel "cheated" with auto and also manual wiggling reminds me "fingerdrumming" on drum machines.
Well, g-stream2020 (or how that deltazeal game called?) looked mediocre for me but I fell with love in xiizeal since watching its gameplay trailer and those "hidden" routes and boss variations were a nice addition. I only saw 5 stages in xii but I like bosses and enemies and how you deal with them. And bullet patterns reminded me psikyo's with addition that in xiizeal when you go to kill strong enemy who can flood screen w/bullets you get shot from below by weaker enemies you were ignoring.
P.s.
Twelvetwelve is like bonusbonus in blazing star, huh

Re: XIIZEAL coming to Steam, courtesy of Degica
I´m really lukewarm about XIIZEAL. I think the main factor putting me off is the overenphasis on lateral shooting. I always find frontal shoot weak, and end up side-shooting everything. Thing is, i have an innate dislike for unorthodox, non-frontal shooting (yeah, it´s quite irrational but it´s there, suffered the same syndrome with Jamestown´s type 3 ship). It´s a pity because i love Deltazeal to bits, and XIIZEAL could well be more of the same goodness, but it´s not due to the mechanics. Nobody gives a damn about Deltazeal either, so i guess i won´t ever see Trizeal on Steam (hope i´m wrong tho).
