After playing the demo, really looking forward to Splatoon, though I might wait until August since not everything is going to be available at launch.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

It seemed interesting from the demo. But I really didn't like the tilt to aim controls. Mario Sunshine is obviously a huge influence on the gameplay.BrianC wrote:After playing the demo, really looking forward to Splatoon, though I might wait until August since not everything is going to be available at launch.

You're more likely to see a Salamander fruit machine or Pachinko

There was a demo, but it was online only and limited to one hour sessions at set times. They added an extra session last Saturday, but it can no longer be played.Some-Mist wrote:Didn't realize there's a demo. I'm really looking forward to splatoon too.

It's a decent year if you're into $0 MTG clones.
HEX is getting its first serious PvE content later this year, where it'll be possible to create complete decks without using the auction house. It might result in a pretty ridiculously high FTP Currency:Pay Currency ratio, to the point where you're getting over $1 an hour for playing a game.
Magic the Gathering's annual intro digital product is now freemium, with it coming out this summer for their final core set, Origins.

You played Ground Zeroes yet? I know, I know...I'm always trying to get you back into MGS...but if V can live up to GZ...it's a must buy.
And on the retro scene, have you played Shovel Knight? For a love letter to NES..you can't do any better. Despite being made by Gaijins. lol.. But they're WayForward people, and they did a nice job on Contra 4.

Shovel Knight was designed by the same exact guy who did the level layouts for Contra 4. It's excellent.

Enjoyed every minute attempting to rinse Ground Zeroes, I held out and got it at Xmas for something like £4 and I spent almost 9 hrs on it. Not so sure if I'd been so happy if I'd paid out £30 for it though.evil_ash_xero wrote:Skykid wrote:None, same as last year.

Isn't Shovel Knight last year? Actually, that reminds me of another game for my humble Vita. Once I'm through with Sayonara Umihara I'll go for that. Contra 4 is damn great, so I'm up for it.evil_ash_xero wrote:Skykid wrote:None, same as last year.

MGS, not so much. No PS4, no intention to buy one, and no urge for GZs or V. Sorry!

Ah, that's a shame. I think you'd be pretty surprised by the new take on MGS.
But I think you would really like SK. There really isn't much to dislike about it. If you find the respawn points and difficulty to be too easy, there's a code, that lets you go into New Game Plus with no upgrades, and like half the check points. It's brutal, but that's how I did it.
That makes sense. The platforming and level design are top notch, in both of those games.Squire Grooktook wrote:Shovel Knight was designed by the same exact guy who did the level layouts for Contra 4. It's excellent.
I believe the soundtrack is done by the same guy too (except for two songs).
Music is such a big part of the older games..I'm glad they really nailed it.

Earth Defense Force 2 for the Vita
It looks like it's coming out in NA on September 15, which is just two weeks after MGS5 and the new Danganronpa. That should keep me busy for a while.
