What ? a new cave game ?...blahhhhh...just the same shooting thing as every year.
Fuck ! Give us a sequel to some real cool shmups like ARBALESTER or something.

I am curious if they will release the game this year.

Here's the 15 minute, I didn't proof read this version:
Three years ago, there was the "Shinra War". The grasses grew green in the lands that were said would whither away. To live, people came together, and revived their counttry.

However, there were foolish people to follow after the Shinra were gone. Those people, were from the country of Souma. Despite not amounting to the same power as Shinra, they had become known as a country with power. After the fall of the Shinra, they secretely scoured the lands, and were able to revive the Spirit Device.

If they could attain the skills to make the "shiny wings" (yeah, I know) which would surpass the strength of the mechanical wings, they could turn their test subjects into real Galuda. "We have revived the true Spirit Device. The Shinra are gone. It's Souma's turn!' To anyone that defies us, there is only death! We are invincible!"

Asagi: The 3rd Galuda
The only Galuda born by the Souma's New Spirit Device. Living in the castle, he felt the pain of the test subjects tragedy, and planned a revolt. As the Souma's first Galuda, was being granted his title at the official ceremonies, where he assasinated the king and escaped.

At first glance, looks bright, but also has a sadistic side to him. Like Ageha and the others, is part of the elite which can tap into abilities in the Kakusei world. 12 years old.

Missed out on a lot of chatter, but one thing is for certain...I'm looking forward to this.

I found the beginning of ESPGaluda to be a bit boring, the end to be way too difficult. But the Kakusei mode makes the game as a whole a lot of fun, and I see no reason why part 2 won't be good as well.

DDP3 is the best shmup ever IMO, and I'm enjoying Mushihimesama ATM. While I wait for Ketsui to hit MAME (don't expect a port, and can't afford PCBs, sorry, don't flame me), let's hope for a port of ESPGaluda II, and one from Arika. Taito just didn't do nearly as good a job as Arika did in the past.

Maybe in 2007 I'll get to play it! Can't wait!

What are you talking about?? Why are you making things up?

You had me all worried I had been missing some important scoring mechanic all this time, so I went and tested this out right away. Doesn't make a difference what your over level is, it only effects the points you get when you're in red kakusei mode.

Whew, don't scare me like that.

Oh, I like ESPGaluda, so I like this news.
MMM, I'm not making things up, and I do know what I'm talking about. :wink: It is IMPOSSIBLE to chain the levels (and get the scores) like the DVD player does without having your Kakusei over at MAX past level 1, because as others said you get more green jewels when you're at MAX level. For example, the way he chains the second part of L2 (he has 450+ green jewels right before the final, long 'train' chaining sequence, without Kaku over at MAX I'm lucky to have 300 at this point). So, since when you die this Kaku over level goes back down to ZERO, it has an important effect on your score if you die in a level. For people who MAX the kakusei out at the end of L1 and don't die until the 5-2 bosses, this doesn't really matter (I'm assuming you're one of these people). :wink:

I have also noticed the green gems seem to deplete a little slower in kakusei mode when you're applying damage to an enemy if your Kaku-over level is at MAX, but maybe this is just my imagination.

Anyway I know this thread is not for strategy stuff so sorry for being off topic.

Enemies also fire more bullets at a higher Kakusei OVER. Combine that with the "more seireiseki" effect, and you have better scoring opportunities at a higher Kakusei OVER than you do at the lowest.

For example, if I die before the start of stage 3, it's usually impossible to follow the regular Kakusei chaining route due to the lack of seireiseki you're given at the lower Kakusei OVER level. Because of that, I usually have to regenerate my Kakusei OVER at the third boss' final attack pattern to stand a chance of scoring decently in the later stages.
