Did the week names get announced anywhere? I can't seem to find them? Week names always leads to great speculation.

Chorensha has 100 versions. Which one are we playing if it gets selected?

Mystic Square and DOJBL would be more than enough for me to forget V-V ever happened. Fingers crossed.

Just started up the V-V earlier today. Probably won't play very much this week, but I'll try to get to at least Stage 5. Not sure if I will though.

Why did I not know about this game till just before the week started? Will have to play more of it later on.

Does the middle part of st4 change depending on the weapons you're using? I seem to get a few smaller planes instead of the midboss if I'm using 'Search'. Can't think of anything else that's affecting it - I'm getting there on one life each time, scoring pretty much the same, etc.

Yep, using search there gives you the easiest enemies.

Metal Slug Stage Result Scoring System (MSSRSS)
Go for 1-all/no miss or you will suck.

Long boss fights, for one. Heck, at least V-V allows you to speedkill bosses by shoving your missile pods right in their face.

I doubt he complained about long boss fights in a general sense. Long fights are perfectly fine if there's enough content to support it. Take Shou for example, each attack is well designed and challenging.

The boss fights in V-V aren't even that long, though...

Long stages, (potentially) short bosses. V-V is the anti-touhou.

Don't forget being intensely boring along with not being fun or rewarding at all. You're right, it is the antithesis of touhou.

Played four credits of V-V and got to Stage 4. Still not a fan of it but I'm getting places. If I could stop dying in Stage 3 I'd appreciate it since it's embarassing. I want to get a bit higher score than only 550k anyway.

How to recover from dying? Game becomes considerably more difficult if you die just once which is a mechanic I haven't really faced before and frankly consider a bit weird. Rank gets lower but things don't die. Will need to experiment more.

Well said.

Depends on where you die. But in general you're screwed. That's the nature of the beast with checkpoints.

When all is said and done, I find it amusing how you're complaining about the game being too easy even though you can barely get past stage 3.

I guess now's a good time to bring up whether or not scores submitted that use the invincibility bug are still legit. And no, I don't mean the dip switch.

Don't break the box on stage 3, you'll get a 1up on stage 5. Offer valid only on first loop.

Even if I don't make it to Stage 5 during the week, I'll still make sure to not destroy the thing.
