2012 shmups goals thread

I didn't clear any of my goals but instead focused on other things of importance in Development, so I don't think I'll put any more goals for next year.

2012 goals for me (for now):
1CC Outzone
1CC Mushi Maniac (PCB)
1CC Gradius
Buy an EspGaluda PCB and 1CC it
1CC Bug princess Ultra (normal)
1CC a total of eight shmups (including the above)
Go back to all my PCBs I've barely touched (Mad Shark, Meta Fox, Twin Hawk)
Expand the Casino Arcade family!
Contribute to a decent London shmupmeet
Host a 'Skykid Mini Meet' at my house
Finish my arcade stick that I stared two years back

Oh - and buy too many PCBs.

Well - I did 1CC Mushi Maniac and get close to the Outzone 1CC. I did nail most – if not all –  of those Bug Princess 1CCs. I did put effort into Casino Arcade and we did have some great meets. But I did fail on too many 1CCs, and that stick build. However, I got really into DDP Maximum and did OK there (currently 33 in the world on iOS), and consult on some shmups with developers/publishers, and do loads with my career in the games industry. And I got so into board games I lost a lot of time to that! That's my main excuse for failing on a few too many goals!

lol I didn't do shit this year:

1CC Pink Sweets 1.01 with at least a C score
1CC Espgaluda with one hand (after fixing my PS2 setup)
Get 100mil in Ketsui
???

I didn't do any of these, although I made some small improvements in Pink Sweets (8.8mil at stage 6). This year fighting games killed my drive to tackle any of my shmup goals. On the other hand, I did finally manage to do a 1CC in Espgaluda II, with a score of 472mil. 350mil was a score I set for myself last year but I didn't pull it off then, so getting close to 500mil now is a feat I'm happy with. I did it just a couple of days before it was scheduled to be moved out of my arcade too - it was a very do-or-die situation so getting that 1CC was quite a heartfelt moment! I also managed to get 276mil in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil Normal, finally beating Heartbeam's 270mil score that's been haunting me for the better part of a year. So although I didn't do any of the things I originally set out to do, I'd say overall it was still a pretty good year for me shmupwise (and I might still make some improvements in Pink Sweets before the year is over, although no way am I getting a C score in less than a week.)

As for next year - at the moment I'm not particularly motivated to play anything, so I'm not going to set any well-defined goals for myself right now. I do still want that Pink Sweets Kasumi 1CC so I'll keep going for that, but it'll be at a leisurely pace unless something happens to get me super motivated. Also if Hearbeam (or anybody else) beats my EoSD score then I'll fight back for it again, at whatever rate I can afford to do.

Fail all over me

The only ones I achieved were looping Muchi Muchi Pork 1.01 and looping DDP with a puny score.
I got stuck with Raystorm (grrrrr).
aaaand I was bitten by the TATE bug.
