Visually speaking, I think stage 5 with the rotating balls looks quite good, head and shoulders above the other 5 levels.

BTW a couple of questions, Is there a way to change the size of a cube that is dropped, I skimmed thru the strategy guide before it put me to sleep with algebra it remember i mentioning something about want lots of small cubes with the ocational big one to keep the chain timer topped up.

Plus on stage 5 whats causing all the cubes to bounce up when i destroy a ball with my cannon thingy weapon, is there some hidden mechanic i dont know about?

I can´t see me improving much further. Possibly my last score. Well I should improve my survival skills, stage 6 gives lots of points. At least that´s more likely than me improving the chaining. :?

All cubes in this game bounce up? However for stage 5: when you destroy one of those red enemies, all bullets will turn into gold cubes. How you destroy them doesn´t matter.
The sizes of the cubes are fixed as far as I know. Reflected shots will always be +1 cubes, higher cubes are only dropped by certain enemy types. You want to collect many small cubes (or let´s just say many cubes) because they raise the experience better than few big cubes do. If you collect one +50 cube without chaining, your EXP only goes +50. If you collect fifty +1 cubes in a chain, the EXP goes +1+2+3+...+50.

The more i play this, the more i like it, I appluade Dex for choosing MM for this weeks game.

BTW With Mars Matrix been a popular shmup I would of thought more ppl had submitted High scores, atleast as many as weeks 1 & 2 had.
Maybe im wrong about Mars Matrix been popular with shmuppers. Too much like a danmaku for retro shmup fans? Also too different from Cave for the Cave / Bullet Hell nuts to like in any great number?

I can either get a good survival run or a good chain... if I could ever just combine the two, I could break into 12 digits. Still a few more days to play though, I'll keep hoping.

I actually really like the chaining. What annoys me is that unless I do the absolute exact same thing every single time at any point past stage 1 I wind up dead.

DoubleThink - The Team With No Name - 12,613,232,120 - 170,530 - 3 - Mosquito 2 - MAME

Finally got a run that no-missed up to stage 3, but OH SURE I die three times on the way to the boss because it only takes half a second to get boxed into a corner by those stupid little turrets that I can't even shoot at. Current plans for this week now are to get the extend on stage 4 and just get as far as I can from there. I don't really care to learn any more than that, and it doesn't help that the stage 4 music is nasty :/

Sweet run! No-death up to the stage 3 boss. Then I died twice, another time on stage 4, barely beat the midboss and got the extend, and then died twice more shortly thereafter. Once I get more of the game down I think I can improve this by a lot...assuming I don't explode in a geyser of rage first.

Getting tired of restarting on stage 1 after losing the chain for the most retarded reasons over and over again.

Sadly no 200 billion, but holy shit, didn´t even expect this score! The stage 5 boss scared the shit out of me, lost my second to last life on his first form. But somehow I got him beaten, with nervous dodging and tap reflects on his last form. Oh and I no missed the stage 4 boss. First time ever. 8)

I haven't screenshoted and only remember the first three digits. I was one enemy away from beating a teammate :D
I also don't remember the Exp, but I got an extend and also doubt that I will be tied with that score.

And thanks dex for choosing a game that is fun, not something like xexex all over again :p
