I'm obviously still going to think your 1 day Tastujin achievement was either mockery to other players (hence the "you're making fun of people", although it's far from being the only instance of that), or just a fake achievement (in which case you're also making fun of people since I guess you're probably smarter than that and you could fake them in a more subtle way).

I'll be glad to believed you've achieved 530M if you show up with more manners and some proof. I would have loved to have a DDP competitor. Someone to discuss the game with. But my DDP competitor is always avoiding discussion.

Seriously though PROMETHEUS, are you really going to make a judgement on him based on STGT smack talking? You must understand that psych'ing out your competition has been a hallmark of the competition, not revealing your real scores or skills until the last possible minute. If this is all you really have against him, its pretty weak. Plus he released videos proving his skill.

If your beef is just on his DDP score, you are better off sticking with that.

It's not because he posted on the last day which is normal in such a competition, rather how he stated he hadn't played before that and acted arrogant. And because he did that sort of stuff multiple times on other occasions.

Just wanted to add that Sik did post an inp of his Tatsujin Oh clear and uploaded the run on youtube. That archievement is legit.

During the last STGT he also managed to pull off a podless, no-miss clear run of Varth in only 2 days, something that took me about 2-3 months. He did post an inp of that too.

He may act arrogant and stuff, but unless he can fake inps, he's as good as he claims to be.

I can understand why people would see me that way based on me not following through on my word, so it's not baseless, but I think other things I have done (my talks in IRC, the videos I have posted) also give people reason to not just "blindly" trust me.

as much as i respect your skills as a player prometheus, this whole thread just comes off as you being butthurt about somebody beating your score....mainly because they didnt have to work as hard to do it as you did....and didnt feel the need to record the run

No that's not what it's about he has never posted his score here anyway there have been a lot of other instances of cheating/suspicious players and it's also because I think it's so much nicer for everyone to have inps / videos of the best scores. But we already said that so many times, I guess if this discussion goes on for a page or two someone will re throw the same critics like they've forgotten they've already been answered and buried...

If I had beaten that score this discussion would be the same exactly. I have been fighting for the French cheater to be eliminated of the scoreboard, or JeremyCarrier, even though their scores were much lower than mine.

And by the way I think I've said this already but it's not just a thread about DDP, I think all high score threads should be managed with verification for the top scores. That's really the topic of this thread despite the name inc gave it. We only started talking about it in the DDP thread because that's where there have been the most cases of "detected" cheaters and it's one of the most popular games.

I think depending on the popularity of the game, top 10, or top 5, or top 3, or top 1 scores should be verified. It would really be awesome to have access to videos / inps of all the top scores.

I think some achievements on some games do require proof. If someone completes ESPRade or some other game that 10 million people have finished, I would believe them just at their word. If you do something that I consider impressive like a 2-all of DDP or setting a world record on cyvern, you should expect people to be suspicious if you don't have a replay available.

I have known sik for a while. He is quite good at a variety of games. Does he have the ability to score 550m on ddp? Sure he does if he puts in the effort. Do I think he scored the score he claims? Yes, I think he did. However when you are the first guy in the Westen world to finish the game, you should make and release a replay. If you don't, you should be prepared to be doubted. People are naturally going to be suspicious. That is just the way it is when you do something noteworthy.

Regarding cheaters, it is always going to happen no matter what, people love to claim that they are much better than they really are. Cheating also happens in sports where people try to bend the rules, or take drugs to enhance performance.
I feel like it would be time wasted if I went out to find some cheaters, because I should spend that time playing or learning games and doing my best on them.

anyway I always like to show people how good I am at games, and I'm sure they enjoy watching. One of my friends said I should put up a video or two onto Youtube, after moaning about it some, I did in the end.. and put up some Time Crisis runs too. Then I ended up becoming a bit popular on there, which was rather surprising, because these runs were rather normal for me, and I can do better.
I have had quite a lot of good feedback from my videos, and people sure use them to get better on games, and I like that.
I just try my best and feel satisfied when I do really well, my targets are usually just against myself, or against other people I know.

sik said he didn't post the score anywhere iirc, and was asked for his score for plasmo's site. Why would he fake a score only to NOT post it?

edit: also, after I asked about it in the DDP high score thread a little while back, I did a little bit of searching. He supposedly played the game quite a while before achieving the score (evidenced by an old blog post linked in this thread somewhere) I think he said like 2 years or something? The famous japanese DDP players got scores even faster, and without superplays to watch. Seems legit enough to me, especially considering his other achievements, some of which have proof.

Well 220 mil in progear it's an outstanding achievement, so outstanding that I would not believe it even if the guy who made it would score it in front of my eyes rofl.
