Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
If I remove the r,g,b grounds but leave the sync connected 14 it looks the same as when I had all the grounds going to pin 14.
You want me to remove the sync one also?

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
I have seen this kind of dimm picture before on an Emotia unit. Was a failing one which needed recapping. This is why suggested to try composite video or s-video on a standard TV set first. Just to narrow down what's causing the problem.....

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
Fudoh - I've seen this as well (I've had the same problem) but it wasn't a faulty Extron issue. However, this can lead us on to another are of investigation.
Beaps,
Try this:
Leave the SYNC ground DISCONNECTED (along with the R, G & B grounds DISCONNECTED) and put a bridge wire from JAMMA edge connector PIN 1 to PIN 14 parts side.
Let me know what image you get and whether or not this image has been replicated before, and under what wiring configuration?

What do you mean, no image? You mean a B&W image as you had with no grounds connected?

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
Mmm... that alludes to the fact you JAMMA ground is up the shitter, which isn't good, but not really relevant here.
OK.
Remove the bridge wire and re-connect your ground from the SYNC to PIN 14.
You have a PVM yes?

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
Yer but I ain't got any BNC to BNC cables
You think I should try the ground at the other end if the finger board to pin 14 if you think it goosed?
Also what about trying
- sync ground to pin 14 & rgb grounds to pin 1
- all grounds to pin 14 & the bridge wire from pin 1 to 14 also

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
STOP!!!....... in the name of love!!!
I'm in the middle of trying to repair a power board in a Gamegear, so you'll have to bear with me.
Don't start swapping grounds about.... you do know what is used for what on your JAMMA don't you!?
Please do as I suggested in my previous post (Remove the bridge wire and re-connect your ground from the SYNC to PIN 14.). I'm satisfied you have a ground doing something from your Emotia.
I have plenty more ideas on what to try yet, but (as Fudoh suggested) now is the time to verify the Emotia works. The other units you've tested could also be goosed, so whilst it maybe highly inprobable, we need to verify this either way.
I'd rather us test your RGBs output channels ideally, but since you have no appropriate cables, can you try the svideo or video out to your PVM or whatever?

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
OK.
You've removed the BNC connections when testing the SVHS connection?
If you slip the PAL and NTSC flip switch at the front, what happens (whilst connection via svhs)?

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
OK.
Logic so far then is that either your Emotia's are broken or there is a problem with your 360 / VGA lead.
Get your laptop or PC, set the desktop resolution to 640x480 and connect that up to the Emotia.
You should get the LED 3 light up.
Try connection again to your PVM via svhs and report back.

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
You can force it lower manually, but I'm not sure I can bear that pain of trying to explain it all.
You really need to try another VGA source to establish a problem with your source (which there shouldn't be) or the VGA cable (again I doubt) or obviously the Emotia.
One other thing worth trying..... have you swapped out the Extron PSU for another?

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
Have you got an internal / external sync button or menu option on your PVM - make sure it's set to internal.
These are Super Emotia's right?
Sounds like it's goosed based on the testing we've done.
I'm sure you have a sync problem.
One last thing to try - adjust the VHOLD on your PVM and see if it affects the colours.

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
You've tried different sources and different target devices..... the problem persists. Logic dictates it's something around the Extron.
Try one of your other Extron's in the current PVM chain.

Re: Extron Emotia GX Operating Instructions
I have tried one of the other extrons but they all give the same image. They all can't be goosed surely?
