Zwei's nerd rage against Ketsui DS
wtf, this is still going on...and here I thought I was coming back for more info on the game...what would make me think such a thing.
(...and as i pointed out previously, the fact that you are ignoring zweihander is that if this were released locally, it would only cost 25-30 tops. importing a game always will cost you more.)
I know, I'm not helping this die by adding to it but I'm dumbstruck. the racism doesn't help either.

No, I just don't pay more than $20 for a standard-def DVD movie.jpj wrote:i would pay $60 just for the dvd that comes bundled with itZweihander wrote:Yeah, $60 is pocket change for a 10-minute demo, man.jpj wrote:it never ceases to amaze me, the cheapness of some people

Yep. I don't know anyone who would pay $50 for Bangai-O Spirits when the US version was slated for release a few months later, but hey, I did, and I bought the US version for the added content and ease of menu-navigation. The difference being, Bangai-O Spirits is a full game, Ketsui DS is just a demo.jpj wrote:do you think there are people cheaper than you...?

No. I expected a FULL GAME for $60, and I would have gladly paid it. $25 is an acceptable price for a boss-rush demo.jpj wrote:you didn't expect a full version of ketsui ... on ds ... for ... $20 ... did you...!?

And I can download whatever I like to evaluate it before any thought of purchase because it's my money. In contrast, $60 for Megaman 9 would be a better bargain.jpj wrote:they can charge whatever they like for it because it's their product

Pretty much. I was very excited about it until I found out it was just a demo. Now it's sort of a "meh" title for me; I wouldn't mind owning it, but only if I can get it for a reasonable price. Hell, I'm still iffy about buying Radiant Silvergun and Panzer Dragoon Saga. However, even as a Cave collector, $60 for a demo can piss off. Would you pay $60 for Ikaruga if it was just a 10-minute boss rush? I wouldn't.jpj wrote:i'm not sure, but i think you're saying that you do WANT the game ... you can AFFORD the game ... but you are too much of a bread crumb snatcher to BUY the game...?

like i said before, i would pay $60 just for the dvd, and give the game away for free (i don't have a nintendo ds)
maybe it's because i have a bit more disposable income i can't really see this as something exorbitantly expensive. you're talking about a $60 price tag as if mihara has just walked into your bedroom and shat on your face, when the pcb of this game swaps hands for about $1,000.

@jp: There are no Death Label boards. There are Black Label versions released in the arcades, though. And yes, they cost the same to play and to buy as the regular games.
Ketsui DS is not a demo. It's a boss-rush scoring game with a new scoring system, three different routes, a full multiplayer mode (with a long stage), training mode, and an interactive quiz game mode as well (you'll only be able to enjoy this if you can read Japanese). Plus you get the superplay DVD which is worth the price of admission alone - the previous Ketsui superplay sells for over $150 now.
BTW If you want the game for under $25, buy it and sell the superplay DVD for $30-$40. It won't be hard to find a buyer for that. Problem solved.

Na, I meant Death Label. I thought Death Label is what stood for Boss Rush Mode for Cave's games, and I was just wondering if those were actually in arcades or not.
But since they are not, then I guess the point I would've made there would be moot. Regardless, Ketsui Death Label looks like an excellent handheld shmup.

I love how people try to justify Ketsui DS's absurd price by mentioning even more absurdly-priced items like PCB's and superplay DVD's. Can someone refresh me on why a superplay DVD should cost more than two games or several actual DVD movies?
