There's two lines I left untranslated because I couldn't understand them. I'd appreciate if someone could explain them to me since I've become quite interested in them.
A guy here in Sweden translated them:

"エディットならではのルール無用
のおもしろ要素も充実しているぞ。

"elements of rule-breaking fun, possible only in Edit [mode] are also abound."

Oh, it's a Bangaoih! Cool I somehow managed to miss both the N64 and DC incarnations, so that's a sequel that will appeal me the most.

It's directly below Contra 4 in my DS waiting list, which consists of two titles so far :)

I might have to save some money for a DS now ! Ketsui DS looks hot and now Bangai-Oh is being released for it . Guess I'll have to trade in my cube for a refurbrised DS at Gamestop !

Don't buy refurbished from LameStop, they accept anything there so you'll be getting a scratched up console. I'd say look for a new one on Ebay, you can find some good deals. I prefer the original DS model and you can find those for about half the price of a DS Lite.

Thanks for the heads up JJG ! I was going there tomorrow night to get it too!

Um, "again"? In the US DC version, fruit had *nothing* to do with charging your counter attack...your bomb meter was filled by causing damage to enemies and their shots and such. Fruit was for points-gathering only.

Am I missing something?

Yes. The JP only N64 version of Bangaioh required fruit to charge the counter attack.

Oh, wow. Yeah, I guess there really were some *very* distinct differences between the N64 and DC version, besides the control scheme. I wonder what I'll think of changing this aspect of the ruleset. Interesting.

Thanks for letting me know.

No, they control the exact same as long as you choose ABXY mode in the Dreamcast version. Unless you're firing with the analog stick which is an available option in either version, but it sucks just as bad in both.

Looks great and just as hectic as the original. Could care less it's a sequel with new levels, vs. and a level editor for this sort of game makes my mind go wild.

Thanks to Unscathed for the trasnlated scan. Hopefully it'll have single cart download (although I'm sure with all that action it'd be a hefty wait) as I'm fortunate enough in that two of my best friends have a DS and love shmups. 8) If not, I dunno if I could get them both to import though. One would probably love it but the other is a heathen and sold his DC Bangaioh. :P

I'm sure you know by now, but yes it does.

Also, could someone update the thread title to reflect the subject is about Bangai-O Spirits.
Shouldn't this also be in OT?
..had a time finding this in the search feature.

Dissapointingly "Winter 2007" is here and no new info or release date has been established.

In the meantime, a snippet from bablefish:

I read in 'N-Revolution' magazine that the release date was just '08'. Slightly sad to see it slip. Along with No More Heroes and Ketsui DS, I'm looking forward to this loads.

Looks like I won't have to import this after all. It's going to get a US release.
Of course, that's just an opinion.
