dunno but NCSX has it in now.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Impressions from IC, if anyone hasn't read them yet -

R-Type Tactics - this game is out now, but I played it at TGS. Basically it's really, really hard to figure out how to start a battle, even for people who read Japanese. Maybe the manual helps with that. Anyway, you first choose your units, then place them, then somehow start the battle - which turns out to be quite a standard affair. The battles are turn-based, and you can choose to counter sometimes if enemies attack you, depending on units. Honestly it's a little silly to have ships that can't attack simultaneously without special maneuvers, but hey. The coolest thing about it is the ships and environments, of course, which are really neat if you like R-Type. I'm not a big fan though, so for me this game was kind of a bust, even though I love strategy RPGS. I really wanted to like it!

I love it, I just beat the first boss and got this killer battleship unit. I just figured out how to mine and build new units.....

There is a translation on gamefaqs, but anyone who needs help just ask, I have it mostly figured out......

Saving is a pain, once the save menus come up, you need to use the "x" button instead of the "o" to accept.
Don't just dodge bullets, dance around them.

The d-pad on the Slim&Lite is great. I can´t stop posting this. It works brilliant on Gradius Collection.

Guys, this game is freaking awesome. Best game with the word 'Tactics' in the title, as far as I am concerned. Also:

Too bad they made the mistake of releasing it on the PSP. I would have snatched this up on the DS.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Yesasia.com has R-type tactics on sale for $24.99:

http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/c ... 004912669/

Keep in mind you also get FREE worldwide airmail shipping with that.
I love Yesasia. I buy stuff from them all the time as they're usually cheaper
than Play-asia and the shipping is fast and free. They also pack stuff a lot
better than Play-asia.

Seems Atlus is planning on bringing it to the US. Keep in mind that this is still just a rumour. Anyway, would love to pick up an English version. The new title sounds cool.

That's still just the same forum post from way back when. I've yet to see anything reliable that confirms this game is being localized.

I thought I was the worst R-type nerd here, but frankly I cant understand some of you guys. R-type strategy game is fine and cool, but in japanese?!

I mean why bother playing a strategy game which has japanese user interface, if you can't read any of it, or even figure out how to save a game? Well each to his own I guess, but still.. I cant understand you.

I'd rather wait it to come out in us/europe, and if it doesn't, well tough.

R-Type Tactics?
A tactical Nectaris style game based on R-Type? ON my crispy, shiny PSP?
I think I just came a bit.

Need. IT. In English. And it's coming as well to the western world?
It's a come-fest :D

Oh boy after FFT, MGS and Battle Royale, it's grand love time for the black sony brick. Every day I love it a bit more. I think it's a very nice, powerful and bright console. And yes, I usually hate Sony.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

According to gamefront.de the british psm3 magazine reviewed (80%) Tactics in their recent issue. Anyone read that review or can provide any scans?

Edit: And a 6 in Edge...both mags are from the UK, I guess the EU release isn't far off then :D

People have attention span of gnats.

If there is a hint of new game, it has to be pirated immediately even though if you cant read japanese, so one can be the FIRST to play it.

..If there's no update for 24 hours, then everybody moves on.

We haven't heard anything from Atlus, nor a confirmation if they are even thinking of bringing it for real. I wonder if it would be possible to hack and translate this the way it was done with other games out there...

I didn't forget this game at all; and if it's indeed headed to the west I'm glad that I was wrong and Necronom right, as I wrote before :)

Atlus? The review in Edge would indicate that somebody else is publishing it in Europe under the original title "Tactics". I doubt they would review the JP version...

@MJR
Gamerankings doesn't mention very much beyond the already known fact that Play mag reviewed it too. Strange...
