Thanks for the heads about the USA GCN port of Radio Allergy having 480p progressive scan output support. That means with such a modded GCN component video cable or Japanese D-Terminal cable set to a PC VGA monitor pinout, instant Gamecube VGA cable (better than the DC VGA Box output in IMO)! Hot damn! ^_~
And will this particular GCN game release of Radio Allergy be the last official 3rd-party USA GCN game release then? It sure looks that way..... ^_~

While I hope the preview is right, it does run afoul of what admins on the O3 website forum claim concerning no progressive support. It's IGN, so like Nintendo Power, I take it with a grain of salt. 480p is worth the extra month of wait, though...sfried wrote:IGN has their Hands-On preview of the fnal US version. 480p supported!

I was there when I asked that question. That was even before the first delay announcement.al138 wrote:While I hope the preview is right, it does run afoul of what admins on the O3 website forum claim concerning no progressive support. They also did the same with Chaos Field, I believe. (Plus IGN has been pretty strict about their outputs, even mentioning in their podcast that some Wii developers are even cheating on the whole "widescreen" aspect of 480p by stretching their image, and that they know because they have special equipment that says so. I doubt they'd be lying on this one.) After all, one wonders why they delayed the release date not once, but twice.
So far, there have been no admins to refute the statement IGN made.

Delayed until May 2007!I know May 1st is only 7 days away (hey it’s a Tuesday too) from this post - but the likelihood is very slim we will see it on that date.
Hell... I think I will pass since I do own the DC version. I am not going out of my way to get this game. The only way I’ll ever pick it up is that it happens to be simply available at a time that I'm getting something else as whatever shop has it.

*Darth Vader tone:* NOOOOOOOOOO!!!Don_K wrote:As far as what that release date is, your guess is as good as mine. PlayAsia.com lists it as June 2007, GameCrazy at September, and Amazon is still listing the March 20th date. None of these are correct however, since no new date has been supplied to anyone.
As for the cause, your guess is as good as mine. I made a list of possibilities in another post, but O3 has said pretty solidly that its only a hurdle, and they are committed to the release of this game.
Well, they said they will get it out, so it SHOULD get out...

The poster there mentions something making sure the translations aren't buggy. (Perhaps they want to make sure that it won't be another case of the Castle Shikigamis?) O3 also confirms the 480p support.DJ Rectal Prolapse wrote:I hate to be a pessimist but it's not looking good, innit?
Surely the only possible reasons for deleys at this stage are because of legal and distribution wranglings. I'd love to know what's going on.
Here's hoping. (It's better than nothing)

this is not looking very hopeful, no. if they still have to check if the translations aren't buggy then they are bit late with that...still would be kind of cool they actually cared about their product and make sure it's all working perfectly...already own the dc version but i will pick this up if it every gets released and they've put the effort in there that they claim to support them for doing so. besides that manpuku-mode is fun.

Tomorrow is the big day. I hope Amazon gets enough shipments. I'll play it even if it is as "bad" as Chaos Field. I don't have many bullet hell games to play right now. I loved Chaos Field really. (It has more hours than Ikaruga).
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

They don't. O3 haven't made any official statements concerning an exact ship date and Amazon simply have it listed as "available soon".themachinist wrote:How do you guys know that it'll ship out tomorrow? I pre-ordered one from Amazon too.
MileStone haven't said anything about additional ports of Karous. They strictly seem obsessed with creating stuff on the DS right now (like Chonouryoku).-Slayer- wrote: Anyone know if Karous will get a GCN or Wii release?

I think Famitsu were responsible for pasting that "announcement". MileStone, themselves, haven't really shown any interest in the Wii at all... outside of some brain-storming about what it might be like to design a shmup control sequence for the WiiMote (which is in the back of the Illegal Function: Radirgy guibebook).eretsua wrote: they had an announcement for a shooter coming up for the wii a while ago, didn't they? would surpsrise me if that wouldn't be karous.

news!
Just to let you all know:
Radio Allergy is in the final development stage. This stage is where Nintendo has looked at a product and outlined the changes that need to be made for production to start. O3 is expecting these changes to be completed and the game re-submitted to Nintendo by mid-may. Once that is done, the game can begin its production run.
We should be expecting it by the end of may if all goes smoothly. and by this stage in development, there isn't too much else that can cause hiccups (knocks on wood)
ALSO! Milestone is working on a version of Karous for the Wii. Unfortunately, I can't say my source for this. But I was able to learn its North American name would be "Crow" if it ever gets localized. Which makes sense. If I could give any more information on this, I would...

that's kind of interesting information. can you tell us how you know this stuff? can you also perhaps what kind of issues nintendo had with the game as it was submitted to them?Don_K wrote:Just to let you all know:

Re: news!
The information regarding Radio Allergy comes directly from O3. The didn't mention any issues Nintendo had with the game, but this is process is pretty much the norm. Your guess is really as good as mine. Possibly a few bits of Kanji were found, could have something to do with the "Wii Compatible" logo on the box, could be compatibility issues with certain hardware (Radirgy GC imports are notorious for not working when a memory card is inserted on North American hardware). May very well be something else entirely, but they seemed to say this was simply just polish more than anything.eretsua wrote: that's kind of interesting information. can you tell us how you know this stuff? can you also perhaps what kind of issues nintendo had with the game as it was submitted to them?
As far as my source for Karous on the Wii, they don't wish to be implicated at this time, but I can say that I know more than I can talk about and it has me smiling

Hell, If I were in charge at O3Ent I'd be resubmitting the game to Nintendo with the demand that they get a competent gameplayer to re-review the game for Nintendo Power. That shitty ass review of theirs is really going to hurt sales, and it really missed the majority of the gameplay technique - the reviewer didn't have a clue!

It seems that Don_k and sfried are also members of the official O3 forum at http://forums.o3ent.com/ . Don_k claims to work at an EB Games and know somebody at O3.Pixel_Outlaw wrote:@Don_k
