Had this name since the dialup BBS era back in 1993 or so. On the first board I signed into it asked me for a handle and I was completely unprepared for this. I quickly looked around my room and saw the Star Wars rancor my friend had given me a few days earlier. He was around 14 and was at that age when boys take down the Garbage Pail Kids posters, and put up shit to do with sports teams and more "adult" interests. He was throwing out a treasure trove classic Star Wars action figures / vehicles as well as other toys from the 80s, so I grabbed the rancor, took it home, and sat it on top of my bookshelf. ~20 years later I'm still using the name.

Some people think my name comes from the Squaresoft RPG Treasure of the Rudras (awesome game btw), but that's not the case.

I wanted a short, unique name to use online but I couldn't come up with anything. At the time I was reading this book and came across the protagonist's name. A quick Google search revealed that the name was truly unique and no one was using it online, so decided to use it myself.

I'm kinda sick of it at this point and wish I could change it, but I'm using this name everywhere so I'm stuck with it. Oh well.

When I signed up to my first gaming forum I simply went through my favourite games until I found an unused one. If I'd known it would stick for this long I'd have put more thought into it. People seem to call me Pang though and that rolls of the tongue a bit better I guess. My real name is Mike Hunt.

Was a Splinter Cell fan back when the series deserved to have any and always liked penguins. Norman Soth had a silly little alias in Pandora Tomorrow so I took it. That and I walk goofy with my arms at my side, (I'm told), so it just kinda fit.

From one of the raddest albums out there. I was getting tired of my previous online handle which I made when I was a kid right when this album entered my life, and I think it's perfect -- gender ambiguous, simple, and has nice ring to it.

It's been my real life nickname for as far back as I can remember. A single syllable shortening and mispelling of my surname.

Excellent album, excellent band, one of the artists who got me back into noise again... I know HZT is a fan too (and introduced me to them in the first place).

Hm, I would have thought I explained this here before.

It's taken from a 68000 assembly instruction TRAP #15 which causes software interrupt 15 to happen. Commonly used in 68000-based PCs for BIOS calls. In my specific case, it refers to the X68000's BIOS (IOCS).

Funny this actually came up at jonny5's 100th birthday lol old man

It was purely a throwaway name I came up with when I signed onto the forums, it doesn't really mean anything unfortunately.

I always thought it was an engrishy spelling of Egret. Guess I'm wrong, haha. :3

Haha, yeah, i don't think you're the only one who's made that mistake.
Even most swedes have no idea what it's for, even though it's indeed a very Swedish eagle it's referring to.

Isn't it sad that this is the first thing people think of when they hear the word 'trap'

Ask a normal person not into Anime or japanese things what trap is, they will say music.... or like a snare or something  . I doubt if you asked somebody on the street what a trap was they would go 'a boy that looks and dresses like a girl like in those manga novels'.
