Either it's not complete, the gun debate is being blown way out of proportion, or you've just illustrated the point that more guns = safer people - but in my area of Texas there have been only 4 incidences involving firearms in the last 5 years. Two were old people committing suicide (doesn't count  ) 1 was a cop killing a perp, and the last one was accidental discharge with no injuries, but caused property damage. Amazing considering I come from a city of 60,000+.. After not keeping up with local news and reading most of this thread, I was expecting a murder on at least every block if not multiples. Unimpressed. I remain unconvinced that America is any more violent than it ever was. We're just in the "gun violence" news cycle at the moment... Eventually we'll grow tired of it and move on to illegal immigrants, drugs, global warming, ebonics, the economy, etc....

It might be an idea to read the statistics for the country of the US, Rancor, and not just your town/village or what not.

I forget what the numbers are with out going into it - which we have done in this thread, but the numbers are there.

Why? I live nowhere near Detroit / Baltimore / Camden / Oakland, (literally +1,000km away) and those cities skew the numbers ridiculously high.

Look, Chris - you need to knock that shit off. You're being intellectually dishonest and taking out-of-context quotes and attributing them to me in a malicious manner. You know exactly what I meant in saying that. I really hope you'll reconsider and take that down.

No worries, Geoff. I shall remove that.

Hardly intellectually dishonest though. We have determined that the stats speak for themselves and indeed more guns usually means more deaths.

Trap, did you miss out on history and religious education?

Christianity is largely a cult derived from Judaism - after all Jesus himself was a Jew.
Judaism's holy book is a subset of the standard christian holy book.
It gets complicated when you get further into it around the gnostic cults and their time and the debates over the dead sea scrolls.

I feel that it is not so much that Christians or Jews or who ever else do things it is a part of human nature to behave in certain ways under given conditions - so the patterns are universal but the names and particulars change.

The notion of what is and what is not deemed to be terrorism largely boils down to which faction and perspective one person adopts: one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter/revolutionary/etc.

Under the Gun acknowledges that gun control won’t solve everything, but it makes a profound target of the gun fetishists who seem to value their rights more than they do life itself
I shall make sure I watch this.

Of course if the assailant was instead brandishing a shovel with intent to kill, the outcome would have been exactly the same.

Guns promote the 'action at a distance' notion and anyone who has used a traditional weapon such as a knife, tanto, katana, etc. will probably tell you that it takes more conviction and 'effort' to attack someone with a knife than a gun - might be a good idea not to make killing too efficient or indeed make guns too widely available to at the very least reduce this type of madness.

Lol, "suggestions" and "leanings" rather than "evidence" and "confirmation".

It was also a gay club during Pride weekend. Can't wait to see what this wacko's story was.

Nothing will be done about either one.

Islam is cancer.... who cares if someone will bake a cake or not when you have these wackos.

He's been on the FBI's watch list apparently in the past.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

He wasn't really even a practicing Muslim, he was just a homophobe with issues and a gun.

There is alot coming out now that he is tied to it.... but the shit fest of media being what it is now, we'll see. I wouldn't be surprised, and my gut tells me he is on what I'm reading.... but the PC police/SJWs are going to of course want to treat any Islamic labels with kid gloves. If your going to throw religion under the bus on the quick draw, at least be equal about it. I don't get why it's so trendy and progressive to bitch about Christians and their cake baking and Target bathroom rants but Islam and their shootings, bombs and women inequality is so taboo.

I would never want to live in a nation governed by Islam even before the USA foolishly stuck their nose in it.

That's some SERIOUS homophobia, he was sporting. Doesn't seem like the normal kind, I'm used to. Even the "God Hates Fags" guys, won't shoot up 50 people.

Man, religion really does fuck up some homosexuals big time.

I really don't get it. If you want to fuck some dudes, just go fuck some dudes. Omar should have been in the nightclub sucking dicks and being happy, but now a shitload of people are suffering because his invisible dad told him he was bad for having those kinds of impulses.

But, just like with Elliot Roger, I'm also of the mind that those men who didn't get their dicks sucked by Omar are lucky since they dodged a grade A douchebag. I dunno.

Waiting for more information on how he was able to kill so many people, how he was able to spend so much time there, why the force couldn't stop it sooner... The news here are too vague: "he was armed; he had a device attached to his body; 3 hour later the police raided the club and made a controlled explosion"...

Is it confirmed he did it all by himself?

I dunno. If he had an assault rifle, in a club, it's easy to see how he did it.

Is there a source for this? I haven't found any articles that confirm it, and I don't really know why he would be obsessing over ISIS propaganda if he weren't currently religious in a serious way.

But even if he weren't, does anyone know someone who's furiously anti gay whose feelings weren't the result of a religious upbringing?

What's weird is that literally no one at school today even mentioned it, or even acted the slightest bit differently. You'd think that if they treated some Catholic teens telling Jewish kids that they "killed Jesus" like it was 9/11, that they'd care at least a little about someone shooting up a gay nightclub.

What's weird is anyone cares. It's just another day. Another shooting. This one didn't even involve tiny children.

While in the waiting room I was forced to see what 2 hours of the media thinks this is worth. They think it's worth about tree fiddy to their bank accounts. Like pretty much every other premature loss of human life is. Ghouls.
