What are the pros and cons of doing so?
You have to use a Japanese account. The code won't work for any other region. You'll still be able to access the content from any other gamertag on the console you first download it on; on any other console, you'll have to both be using your Japanese gamertag and be connected to Live.

Mushihimesama Futari's 1.01 code was an exception due to its region free status.

Why, on the BL local high score boards, does some of my stage numbers glow? Say i got to area 4. when i get the game over and it scrolls up the leaderboard, the number 4 is glowing. it is not because i just did it. it stays that way.

I seem to recall Live Gold subscription codes work equally well in any region, but I'm not entirely sure. Check the sticky in Hardware. Points codes definitely only work in their home regions though.

following this up: Famitsu's top 30 puts DFK BL at 5186 units FW.

Just below WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011!

...Minor tangent, but it might be worth keeping in mind that MCreate, Famitsu et al. don't count online sales. The president of Experience Inc. recently said that the main sales channel for 360 games is over the internet; apparently 50% of the first week sales for their recent release were from Amazon. So it's possible that a significant chunk of the retail pack's sales are being excluded.

I just got Black Label in the mail. This video is an accurate representation of how I'm feeling (replace Halo:Reach with BL): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXasCjUTNpE

So I just encountered a bug where Vertigo (Stage 5) will not stop playing. It plays even over boss themes and other stage themes in Training. Kinda awesome.

happens in 1.5 without the patch as well
i don't think the 1.5 disc patch resolves this issue on the BL dlc

Ok, so, goddamn it, in BL Arrange (aka Ketsupachi) what exactly triggers the large stars when a boss dies? I seem to always get it when I no-miss a stage, but that doesn't seem right. Anyone know the exact conditions? My best so far for stage 1 is 50 billion, but I know I can do better than that.

Yeah I haven't tried the Arrange mode yet but if it's like BL then you need a full red gauge to get the large stars from bosses.

Ok, that makes sense then. I thought it was "don't use a hyper for the kill" which kind of made sense since it was depleting my gauge when the hyper ran out. Thanks guys!

So BL scoring. I jack up the red gauge to full by lasering, then hyper and bullet cancel. Or do I have that all wrong?

Ooh, why what happens? :o

Gonna try it again in a bit.

Initial impressions are that I prefer it 1.5 almost immediately, but then I need to learn the scoring. If I hate that it's going to break it.

Ketsupachi is amazing too. Any advice for that, or is it just keep getting x10 chips and the bees when they flash?

Yeah get 10s and your hyper will mostly be used as a get out of jail free card when things get nasty. And they do.
I know full red gauge on bosses in this mode will give you the big stars.
Split second wide shots into lock will keep your red gauge full in the stage so you have to keep pushing both buttons....ya know, like ketsui or something. :)

Yeah, it's awesome. It's easily the most intuitive ver of DFK if you're familiar with Ketsui. I was whooping after about twenty seconds into the first stage when those 10's came spilling down the screen. Lovely. :o

Thanks for the info dude.

Holy crap, game's incredible!

I don't think I've had this much fun with a new Cave title in YEARS. I've been stuck on BL for the last couple hours and it's absolutely mindblowingly good - both modes equally. I love BL, it's full on, take no prisoners nuttiness, and rock hard. It just punishes you for pushing up that red gauge but it's sublime when it all goes nuts.

Likewise with Ketsupachi - what a rush! Totally full on, Ketsui 2 in full spiritual glory. Sorry for crowing on, had to tell someone, I fucking love it. It's doing things to me I didn't think DFK would ever do.

HOWEVER, I've got one issue that's really pissing me off I hope someone can help with. The game isn't letting me enter my high score on Ketsupachi. I had the same thing with DFK 1.5 Arrange A and I'm not sure if it's some setting I'm turning off or something. BL lets me enter my name after I reach a new high score, but to my horror I just went through Ketsupachi with a stratospheric 1-4 score and triggered 3 extends, and when it ended it just went to the existing high score board and still has my old crappy score on there. :?

What am I doing wrong folks?

Restart? You can't restart, even in stage 1, or else you don't get to put in your initials.

It's especially frustrating in Ketsupachi, since it takes a little while to adjust to having to rush up and point blank the silos to destroy them fast enough. I've never understood why they care if I start over in stage ONE? How is that cheating?
