I believe there was a device called LCD Topgun...or something...that worked. It wasn't a light gun in the traditional sense, as it used sensor bars. This was a few years back, so my memory is a bit fuzzy.
Well the Wii uses sensor bars too, but that doesn't count...I was speaking of light guns in the traditional sense...yesteryear classic games. Those of you who buy the FC2 or FC3 need to know that the light gun only works on Tube sets.

Yeah, add to the list that apperantliy Castlevania III doesn't work either. Including its Japanese counterpart but that's understandable because of the additional soundchip in the cart...

Yobo....the company that makes the console sent a list of games the don't work, Like Micky Mouse for Genesis/Mega Drive, but the list was maybe 10 games or so. There are literally thousands of games between the 3 formats you can play....so far all my shmups have worked so far including:

Axelay
Space Megaforce
Truxton
Hellfire
Bio Hazard Battle
Curse
Contra Alien Wars
Dragon Spirit
Legendary Wings
Megaman 2
The Guardian Legend
M.U.L.E.
M.U.S.H.A.
Zanac
Herzog Zwei
Megaman X
Thunder Force 2, 3, 4
Thunder Spirits
Earthworm Jim 2
Mr. Do!
Duck Hunt
Columns
3 pack Revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage, etc.

These are the games I've played so far. Some of the games I had to do a little cleaning to get them to work, but once I did that...its been smooth sailing.

(I used a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts)

Dude, I'm in classic heaven...I can now remove and pack away my Snes, Genesis and NES from my very crowded table.

Note: I do not own a stand alone SMS, I have the SMS adapter so I can play Power Strike...but the SMS adapter does not work (so far) on top of the FC3 unit, so the Genesis might have to stay on the table.

Consider all the things I've posted above before buying one. Here is a pic of the controller:

Image

The controller works great so far, but the quality is questionable, thats just my opinion, it feels cheap ( but what do you expect...the thing is 40 bucks) however...I think I will buy a couple more controllers in case the unit goes out of production. The controller inputs resemble Genesis/Mega Drive/Atari style connection, but I have not tested a regular G/M/A as of yet. When I do, I'll bump this thread with any info for prospective buyers.

Perhaps a pad-hack would be a good idea?

There may be a mod for this. I recall something about certain flavors of MD (maybe the MegaJet?) would not play certain add-on units and there was a mod to get these peripherals to work (along w/ Virtua Racing, I think). I thought it was on the Assembler boards...

I noticed you use the front input on your VCR for easy video hook up :D Isn't that great! Being as I don't have a dedicated gaming setup @ the apartment I do things this way for easy play-then-stoy-away. The awesome thing about my TV is it has component input on the front panel  I've never seen that on any other TV.

Yeah that's already a great list of working stuff you listed there. Also, I still have a MasterSystem so that's not a problem and for the controllers I'm sure as soon as the pinout is known there are open possibilities around the corner.

Thanks again ROBOTRON!

How much does a Sega Master System Rapid-Fire adapter go for these days? I bought one complete with the original packaging that it came in thinking that it'd work on the Atari 2600/7800 consoles but it doesn't work with it despite having the same DB-9 configuration. Had to resort to buying a 3rd-party Questronics auto-fire device with built-in variable pot trim that interfaces with said Atari console and controllers.

I ordered this last year, July or so - finally they made a batch and it arrived, after being impounded by customs for having incomplete paperwork...
