so the bugs aside, how do people like the game? I find it to be one of the better shmups released in the last few years.

I've said it before already, but I don't think it'll hurt to say it again- I'm not a hardcore, awesome gamer. I love shmups, but I'm not all that great at them, but I can say that I love this game, because every time I pick it up, I progress, and that's all I look for. For the record, I cannot for the life of me get passed the first stage of Last Hope. For what its worth, I do believe DUX is quite an feat in comparison to Rene's previous work with the other fellas.

Overall, I think it's fun.

I haven't noticed the scoring bug. The continue bug is a little annoying, but not that significant in the big picture. I've had the game for a couple days now and I'm really enjoying it.

1cced it this morning, level 5 got on my nerves but once you know it (and use blue laser !), it's kinda easy to get through.
Level 6 looks great, but maybe a bit too short... (one more reference to R-Type I assume, or "f*** we gotta release that game at last !!!" ?)

overall : a good game, even a very good one if memorizing is your stuff !
Redux ? wait & see !

is there currently a speed up/down option anywhere?
On the game website it's the left shoulder button, but that's not featured on the ingame controls menu...
...still really enjoying this though and it's inspired me to revisit Pulstar, Blazing Star and Last Resort- Pulstar plays very nicely on my Dreamcast using Neo4All, but Blazing Star and Last Resort are definitely better on MAME.

Where can I order the Limited Edition of DUX? Play-Asia does not have it anymore, I know I should have ordered it back when it was first offered but didn't because I dislike cute 'em ups, but I just saw that the game released and suddenly felt I HAD to buy it.

wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry http://www.hucast.net/shop/article_11/D ... LE%5D.html

Also, why isn't DUX offered on the NG:DEV.TEAM website? I mean it's still Hellwing's who were in charge of both projects, so...

The graphics looks better like the videos, but the colour contrast between scene, background, bullets and enemies is a shit. No way.

...Thespeedup/down control doesn't feature on the website now, so I guess there isn't one :D
Also on my Neo Geo shmups pilgrimage I've been playing Iron Clad (using Neo4All again) and there's a definite resonance with Dux there. No bullet soaking in Iron Clad but you do get bombs, a bit like R-Type meets Raiden.

I have a small question for a little clarity here.

It was mentioned a few pages back that those who ordered directly from hucast would receive the bugfix version for free--do we need to write in and request this or can we just expect a shipment when it is ready? I do have an NTSC Dreamcast and use VGA so I unless I misunderstand the bug I guess the scoring issue doesn't affect me, but I would like to have the other fixes in place, and just wondered how this would be handled. :D

HUCAST.net customers can request a revison disc individually soon. Other shops may handle this differently.

And to the people who still want to get an DUX LE, you may have better luck here and or there.

So can you really not remap the buttons or am I just totally dense about this button configuration screen?

Apparently this will be added in the re-released version.

All 4 buttons should be mapped.

2 buttons do shot, 2 buttons do the release.

I'd like auto fire myself. Too much button bashing for me.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

So, I've ordered 2 copies of this game- and only one has turned up.
I've ordered the LE and the normal game.

The game that has turned up contains The DVD case, the game disk, the soundtrack disc and the instruction booklet on the back of the DVD case is printed 037 under the bit where is says 'compatible devices'

-is this the LE version of the normal version?? - coz it doesn't say LE on it anywhere.

I've seen other editions on ebay with a poster and a thankyou for your patience leaflet- i've got neither.

Anyone shed any light on this for me -before i contact hucast for my missing game.

While I'm not sure what ETA means, Pink Bullets is to be released at July or early August. We make a few more changes, so it may take a bit longer, but August is possible. I said this with DUX many times, but this one is more save.

Soundtrack is currently TBA, but you can expect it around August or September.
