Well folks, I will be back in London on Thursday/Friday permanently. Yay! more shmuppy goodness!

Better still I will be living in Kentish Town, a mere 15-20 minutes to Tottenham Court Road.

C'mon! That's not fair! :) Female shmuppers should feel that they're welcomed - not feel that they're incomprehensible to us, even if they are uncommon as hell. I know you were only joking of course Plasmo, but the bleeding heart liberal in me can't help but pipe up!

And m0nks - welcome back mate! Apart from many happy/stressful hours in Casino again, we must go for drinks at some point soon.

Damn right, I'm sure we will soon need to drown our sorrows brought on by constant humiliation at the hands of dodonpachi daifukkatsu

It's emerald. Though there is another girl who comes down only to play Deathsmiles (and apparently only Deathsmiles) quite often.

DeathSmiles was very popular with the female audience at Insert Coin 09, FWIW.

I got in a few final credits to DFK today. The game is really hard to score competently in - 20 credits or so and still no sign of the second extend. Got over 8 billion today, despite the screen inexplicably turning blue halfway through the credit (I guess one of the colour signals cut out). How long are you planning to leave it in there, Taylor?

Deathsmiles seems to be very popular with women, my girlfriend more or less forced me to buy the PCB.

That girl in the previous page playing Deathsmiles looks suspiciously like Cristina.

Anyway, I've just got back from a week in Taylorland - Kenilworth :!:
I'll try and make it down tomorrow night to play that puzzle game DodonDRYfukkatsu.

DeathSmiles is a good game, and I'm happy to have played it lots.. would like to play it more in the arcade to be honest. Though I don't know when I'll be able to get to Casino again, depends on how busy I am, and if I can get some cheap travel down there (and of course if I get somewhere to stay) :D

I agree about scoring being hard to do on DFK, it really seems like you have to get the secret bosses to score very well.

and thanks for uploading the lightgun videos CHI :)

The secret bosses are mandatory, even forgiving score and “chainability” their routes contain bees and, while you can collect every standard route bee in the game and still hit the loop, it’s probably better to have a bit of leeway -- especially given some of the bee locations in the laser death section of stage 5. And some of the hidden bosses are easier than the normal ones...

A great night was had with DFK tonight, with me, m0nk's and durango76 getting blinded by the brightness, while Chi worked his magic on MBL. Great to see you all. I'll post scores tomorrow for DFK...

Might want to keep them in this thread or the neoempire one. The DFK board is discontinued here and anything less than 10b is going to be grief.

To be honest I agree that the scores we have aren't worth recording yet. People are getting 4 times my submited 2-2 score on stage 1-2.

you're right that our scores are pathetic (i'm not proud of my scores but i'm also not ashamed of them either)...
there's only a handful of us playing this game right now...
only one person has gone over a 10 billion score on this forum...
get the ball rolling by starting up a new thread and have discussions on it (not here... lol)...
soon we will be hitting that 10 billion mark in no time

ps: are you watching superplays?

DS MBL: was on a mission trying to beat my own score, 1 life all the way to Ice Palace and totally lost it all... GRRR...

I was down last weekend, mid-day Saturday. There was a female there then too: my girlfriend asleep on the retro machine next to me while I played a single pound's worth of DFK.

Playing strong type (I think) I got to the 5th stage first go and got wiped out by those spinny, lasery bastards.

Second credit got me to the stage 5 boss...(?)
I got killed, looked at the Mrs, and decided another full credit wasn't on the cards - so I hit continue to see where the game goes. What a deceptive stage 5! That wasn't the boss, it's a mid-boss - I had no idea how much further it went from there.

Needless to say I clocked it in 2. I can see the 1cc being a cinch if I can figure out the spinny, lasery things.

I wasn't playing for score of course (don't really know how to score.)

Anyway, it's so amazing I could cry. I want it damnit!
