Kron, a person who is extremely reliable said in click's forum that it's "definite."Blue Lander wrote:I'm really looking forward to Senko no Ronde, too. Is the Dreamcast port a sure thing? Is there any release date?
Sounds like we have reason to be excited that it may very well happen at the least.
Click: Kron: So, that DC port... definite or just super-highly possible?
Kron: Its a definate click (you have my word).
I've passed the release information in the past about the Border Down, Psy2 and Shiki 2 and Chaos Field DC releases so I hope that is in someway an indicator.
Click: Kron - I'll take your word. Would it be sneaky to hint at it on the front page?
Kron: Entirely your call!
I'm actually with you on this bloodflowers. It's time for a new system and i'm starting to think it's time for the DC to go to sleep. After Senko No Ronde and perhaps Radirgy what the hell else is there? DC sure as hell can't handle Type X.bloodflowers wrote:A better question would be "is Trizeal the last shmup the Naomi will see?".
I hope so. That'll have a billion DC fans cursing my name, but it's time to move on - the Type-X for better or worse is looking like the new standard, and since Gigawing Generations is hitting the PS2, it would be /reasonably/ safe to say other Type-X shooters should get a PS2 port.
Hopefully.
Apparently, it plays sorta like Virtua Fighter: 3-buttons (shield/boost, primary attack, secondary attack) plus lots of tap-tap motions to perform the special moves.LoneSage wrote:Senkou no Ronde's always seemed like "Virtua On in space" to me...I have no idea how it's going to play exactly, but for some reason I'm not too excited about it.
Wow, too bad it's a borderliner, else that'd be a good addition to the Hot Shmup Chicks thread over in OTKiken wrote:http://www.grev.co.jp/ronde/images/inst2.jpg
It's an attempt to make a 2-player battle game that playes like a shmup. It's not a shmup in the traditional sense, but it's a game targeted squarely at shooter fans.LoneSage wrote:Senkou no Ronde's always seemed like "Virtua On in space" to me...I have no idea how it's going to play exactly, but for some reason I'm not too excited about it.
The neo has been abandoned entirely if I understand the situation correctly, except for possible 3rd party games.just look at the NEO-GEO it still brings us good shooters (METAL SLUG 5) after being more than 10 years! on the market..
Well, I have a non-modded Japanese PS2 and I am coping just fineNeon wrote:...but if you don't have a modded ps2, you're missing out on the good stuff.
and input lag, and slowdowns which don´t correlate to the onscreen action. Basically, all the bad stuff we´re used to from PC world is coming to the arcades. It sounds so much like a cliché that I argued against everybody predicting this when Type-X was announced, but from actual reports it looks like Type X is, at least to me, the worst case scenario that could happen to arcades. So there's no reason to retire Naomi for many years to come. Shmups don't really need over-the-top hardware these days. FPS games and the like are the driving forces for new hardware. And weren't there reports of Type X hardware already sometimes crashing to "blue screen of deaths"?
absolutely.Naomi is nice, reliable, developer-friendly and cheap too. A good platform for shmupping
Thats a definite pre-order at NCSX.com !Dylan1CC wrote:Kron, a person who is extremely reliable said in click's forum that it's "definite."Blue Lander wrote:I'm really looking forward to Senko no Ronde, too. Is the Dreamcast port a sure thing? Is there any release date?
