Super Nintendo Mini acrylic plexiglass case with photos :)

Post by Triaxis »

I picked up a SNES Jr for $10 bucks and inspired by the SLG in a box design, decided to make a acrylic case for the mini. This machine will be my dedicated Sd2snes machine, sorry dirt trax fx. Here is a list of the work done and work in progress. One of my big objectives was to make the case stackable. If i pull this off the genesis 2 is next.

1. Heat sink pressed and lowered.
2. 62 pin slot relocate. Techmo basketball gave its life to make that adaptor :)
3. 5-mm insulating standoffs mounted to bottom of case. By placing the bottom rectangle of the new case in the original case you get a perfect templet to mark and drill the holes. Because you can see through plexiglass it makes it easy to line up your standoffs.

Waiting on parts for

4. RGB restore Mod.
5. S/pdif digital audio mod. This one scares the hell out of me. Planing on spending all day on this mod working very slowly.

interesting idea.

My suggestion (take it with a grain of salt) I would have done the SNES connector rewire a tad different. As the port in its original spot is removable, why did you even bother with the pluggable 90 degree slot + wire? Why not just remove the original port and wire the new port directly to the thru-holes? It would look much cleaner.
