Monitor issue MS8

Post by Trevor spencer »

Hi

I dont know much about monitor problems but id like to learn

My MS8 seems to have a slight issue but i really only notice it while its in interlaced mode , the left hand side of the screen is flickery plus the top left corner is distorted

Image

I dont seem to notice any problems while the screen is in progressive mode apart from the screen blooms in and out when it goes from dark to bright but im not sure if thats a characteristic of these screens ?

ive also noticed theres a very slight purple hue in the top left corner too , only noticeable on certain screens , mostly blue screens , Ive tried degaussing it but dosnt seem to sort it .. ive now unplugged it from the mains to see if it helps

Its almost like theres a magnet by it but the speaker is quite far away from the screen on the aero so im unsure

What advantages are there to getting a new cap kit ?

Its most annoying as the screen is pretty mint looking apart from this

Ok, since this thread is missing the obvious:
Have you tried to adjust linearity in that mode?

[edit]
reason I ask:
Had a very similar effect on two of my monitors:
Supernice picture in one resolution, bow on the top in another resolution.
Turned out, that I had to adjust linearity to a (smaller picture) to get it super-razorsharp and right.
Monitors are not ment to display the picture to their very edge, - but a little smaller.

Let's try to find a linearity pattern and try to adjust the picture to get it right.
Most of the time you will find a great setting, without interference, with a little trial and error.
