I just had a brief look at the videos. Here is one that gives a glimpse at all modes of the game. It turns out that the STG skills test is only a small part of the package:

Didn't expect a port of Ge-Sen Love. Not sure if it deserves a full-priced standalone retail release; it probably should have been included on the 10th Anniversary collection. Would have been perfect for a $15 XBLA release.

Considering the strong 4P multiplayer focus of the game, I'm hoping it has online play support, though this is unlikely with Triangle's meager resources.

As usual, we should be sending emails asking for the disc to be region-free.

The closest thing to a full game on the collection is CombatZeal, and it's essentially a new version of Shmups Skill Test.

That price is for the limited edition, the standard will be cheaper.

I was under the impression that CombatZeal was more like a 2d fighter skills test in the vein of Final Fight and others.

As much as it pains me to say it, I agree. I mentioned that this would have been an ideal release for XBLA at a price point of $10-15. A full-priced retail release is stretching the faithfulness of Triangle Service fans much too tight. I preordered the Special Pack of 10th Anniversary with no regrets, but I will be passing on this one unless the import price comes down substantially.

While having more 4P multiplayer games in this vein is appreciated, it doesn't do any good for most people in this day and age if there's no online support.

Sorry, Triangle Service, but I am not going to buy it at this price. I own pretty much every 360 shmup, but there is a limit to how much I am willing to spend on a collection of mini-games. This should be a budget release and not cost more than $25-$30 USD; at this point it feels like Triangle Service is trying to milk crazy shooting game fans.

Overall this seems like a risky release. It costs money and effort to make the release/print run happen - and I have my doubts that this one will make its money back ... unless he has something up his sleeve.

Maybe somebody should prod him again and suggest to include the "Shooting Love, 200X" content as a bonus on the (region free) "Ge-Sen Love Plus Pengo!" print in order to make the release more relevant for the export market. I'd image that the NTSC-J market for "Shooting Love, 200X" has been sufficiently milked already. Six months later there could then be a 2 disc ("Shooting Love. 10-Shuunen: XIIZeal & DeltaZeal" + "Ge-Sen Love Plus Pengo!") completely region free release of the "Xbox 360 Triangle Service Love Collection". Even milking has to be done right...

Fujino said that he couldn't make Shooting Love 200X region free. It's already been submitted through MS' approval process, and the code on the disc is set in stone. It's impossible to patch the region code out of games as well. They would need to re-submit it as a "different" game, which would be far too much of an expensive hassle to please a few hundred gaijin at best. I don't see them putting the entire game on the Ge-Sen disc either, when they're still selling 200X through Games On Demand.

I agree that the only reason the Ge-Sen Love port (and the 200X/Anniversary double pack) probably exists is because TS is short on cash and needs it fast. I won't be surprised if they go into smartphone games after this.

And yeah this release probably isn't for everybody, but I'd rather lay down my money for this than for a rerelease of a game that I already own.
