It *should only* transcode in that config.
It will deal with a switching 480i/p signal, with the caveat that it will be processing when seeing an interlaced image (adding lag).

Thank you Fagin. I was considering the transcoder that you showed on Youtube, the Mayflash, for use with PS2/Original Xbox, but, as I understand, there is not a continuous 480p signal in either of them, even if you set them to that resolution.

XBox is pretty much 480p for almost the complete library, but the PS2 only offers 480p on selected titles.

I see. And what about the system menus? Aren't they 480i if resolution is set to 640x480?
