Crazy thing is I want to vote for this guy. Sure, the most sensible thing is to just destroy society and start over. Fuck air conditioning, electricity and refrigeration. Go back to loin clothes and subsistence living until we get shit straight. Sure, population numbers will probably crash (I think at least 6 billion must go!) Thing is, if we're going to have modernization, we must first UNDERSTAND modernization (full implications of network-reality-life!) and we certainly don't. Current genetics only allow small choice set (see Barry Schwartz), current psychology only allows for limited population (see Universe 25.) We must evolve into modernization the correct way. I don't know what that is yet, but if we just voted for this guy, I'm sure, he could show point us in the right direction.

I know all the rest of you have political views here, but it probably doesn't involve burning the whole world down and building up again from mud, dirt and feces (hence, you are wrong). I really wish to God that this guy was the genuine article, but it is almost certain he isn't. As you point out, his quotes are pure absurdity, and his bid for president of the US clearly a joke. Still, lines like 'everywhere is America' and the whole bit about how the first thing he did when being released from jail buying a big mac and coke are priceless.

No, it just kills me that while liberals are self-proclaimed "progressives," the far extreme liberal stance (which you seem to have) is more regressive than progressive. The Japanese guy in this video is an obvious troll, and you're taking him seriously. Yes, the industrial revolution really messed up society, destroyed families, and made life more difficult. But did it? There's quite a lot of positive advances once the speed bump was overcome. Moving forward is what we need to do. Fixing the problems we have. Ruining society and running off into caves to subsist on berries, honey and locusts isn't going to solve the world. You're a teacher, right? Is this what you tell your classes?

I was just looking at pictures last night of the skies of Beijing and how terribly polluted it is. It looks like a scene from Blade Runner. Yes, we're ruining our planet. But we need to fix the problems we have and move forward, not backward. "Neolithic communism" isn't going to fix anything, and you certainly cannot be like Pol Pot and force it on people.
