I've found it a little easier on Gamecube but I'm still getting Cs

What do I have to do to get As?

Score higher. For Chapter 1 you need something like 3,400,000 points to get maximum rank (S++).

How on earth do I pull that off?

Any Videos I can download showing me how to be the Shit in Ikaruga?

Aren't there replays included on the disc for the GC version? Or do you need to unlock 'em? I recall hearing of a "slo-mo" mode too, a la Silvergun, which you could use to practice chaining and such...

If you go to Conquest mode, you can play individual sections in normal or slow speeds, and watch slow-motion demos. Important: the demo you see for a specific section depends on what screen setting you've chosen. Generally horizontal 1 shows more basic strategies, with horizontal 2 and vertical 1 being more advanced. Horizontal 3 shows how to get through some sections without shooting.
