Wow - I hope they do. Makes so much more sense when you put it that way.MJR wrote:That's because the counter doesn't make any difference between secret humans and normal collected humans. The only complaint I have about it is how they handle the humans. I get the whole "kill the keepers to rescue a human" thing, but they also throw in a seemingly random requirement for one (or more?) human like killing keepers in a certain order (2nd stage) or having your multiplier above a certain level at a certain time (1st stage). It sort of feels random and i'm often finding myself wondering why or when one of my humans died. Very frustrating.

Re: RESOGUN (PS4)
Today was the first time I actually played the released version, kinda crazy how much it has improved in the last four weeks. having announcer speak through controller was a nice touch, also getting more boost when hitting the enemies. I'm also very glad that my suggestion (getting more points the faster you kill the enemies) was also added.
Difficulty seems to be more reasonable too, I got to stage 3 on my first try (whereas 3 weeks ago I used to always die in stage two).
It's crazy how big scores some people are already racking. Are they doing nothing except playing this game? I had one go and was able to get only bit above 5 million

Re: RESOGUN (PS4)
Any suggestions on how to get the last human on stage 5? I know the 3rd (or 4th) is based on your multiplier as is one later on (around the 8th). I'm trying to get all humans and I keep losing this one. Can't figure out why. Maybe I'm killing the wrong enemy first? *shrug*.
Re: RESOGUN (PS4)
If the secret human requires multiplier, look out for the glow behind multiplier. If there is no glow, it means that your multiplier is not high enough and you are losing the human. If it's green, it means that you are going for it and will have chance of liberating it.slateman wrote:Any suggestions on how to get the last human on stage 5? Let me know if this helps, if not, I'll ask the guy who designed the level for the exact conditions.
Also, there is a secret hero mode in the game, for the nutters out there who want their games hard and x99 multipliers

Re: RESOGUN (PS4)
I asked the designer of stage 5, and he said that for last human of stage 5, you will need nothing else except kill keepers in correct order. No multiplier is required on phase 3, only on phase 2.
And I can confirm it as I also managed to get it last night

Re: RESOGUN (PS4)
Just played it - controls are really wonky - move left, then fly up or down and .... you move left slower. Obviously, because of the analogue controls and circular gate. However, that kind of control doesnt work in the context of a side-on shooter with push scroll.
Um. And you can't use the D pad which would fix this.
Yeah we had this kind of control working in 1982 guys, game is no fun to play like this. Should have put L/R on the left stick and U/D/fire on the right, or just allow the D pad.

I'm almost positive that was the control scheme when I played the (surely almost finished) beta back in August.system11 wrote: Should have put L/R on the left stick and U/D/fire on the right, or just allow the D pad.

Like you said, dual shock thumbsticks are still shitty but Resogun played really well to me - learn the scoring dynamics and start ramming through everything and it should get easier.

I completed this today on Veteran to unlock the Master difficulty, done the 1st level on Master, love this game.
Has anyone 1CC the game? It's the only trophy I need to get Platinum.
Is this game regarded as an "easy shmup" it's the 1st one iv really played and got into.

Wanted to give it a try but a bit latter I've realised that this game was actually developed in europe. That is kind of a bad sign already (if it's not NG DEV TEAM). However, most of you guys seem to be pretty fond of Resogun. So it might be not all bad.

Agreed. When Gran Turismo 6 looks almost real and you find out its on PS3, it kind if knocks the wind out of tge PS4 sails. Im going to wait a year, esoecially as theres no backwards compatability on either next gen console yetUdderdude wrote:Be prepared to see this a lot.bcass wrote:There's nothing there that couldn't be done on PS3 hardware.

RESOGUN (PS4)
I see it the other way...
After playing PS4 you can tell Gran Turismo doesn't look as good as it should and it's a shame it isn't on the PS4 yet.
I think it maybe should of come out before the next gen consoles for better sales. As I don't want to buy it now. Like with GTA and Last Of US, I'm sure it will still do well though.
I did the 1CC trophy and got the Platinum trophy for Resogun today, great game.

Enjoying this game a good bit. I have no idea how people are getting these crazy scores though... is there anything more to it than to keep your multiplier going and collect scoring items and humans?

Not using any bombs adds to your points.
The harder the difficulty the higher your multiplier can go.

i'm on the last level on a credit so far..
can the asteroid boss be milked forever or will the boss time out? i was thinking that might be where a portion of the real high scores come from.

Re: RESOGUN (PS4)
things that affect the points the most are multiplier and rescuing humans. Additional score boost can be achieved by killing enemies when they generate (sooner you shoot them the bigger the score), and juggling humans consequently in the portal, it gives huge bonus but is very difficult to do.charlie chong wrote:i'm on the last level on a credit so far..

also you can boost through consequent enemies for bonuses.
oh and the boss you mentions generates blocks only about twice. If you use overdrive on the appearing block with full multiplier you can get a MASSIVE bonus.

Euroshmup =/= shmup made in Europe.
Euroshmup = shmup with bad mechanics, incredibly hard or incredibly easy patterns throughout the whole game, bosses/enemies that die in 5000 hits or 1 hit, unbalanced and/or shop-based weaponry, and oversized lifebars (in any mixture of these).

Nice. In my limited experience there's also a distinctive euroshmup look, which Resogun inherits with the bright action against a dark background. Do euroshmups also tend to favor club music?GradiusuiraD wrote: Euroshmup =/= shmup made in Europe.

Re: RESOGUN (PS4)
finally got the 1cc and have just under a 100 mill for my score.the guys at the top of the leaderboards must know some different scoring tricks cos i kept my chain up nearly the whole game, overdrived the asteroid boss etc..i have seen some human herding vids where the player keeps all humans alive till his multiplier is up and then saves them all once it's maxed. it looks fairly fiddly tho

Maybe not "club" music, but they definitely favor that uniquely C64/Amiga brand of Euro-dance-electronica music, since the genre has deep roots in old European microcomputers.professor ganson wrote:Do euroshmups also tend to favor club music?
Movement with inertia physics is another trait common to many euroshmups, such as in Project X.

Re: RESOGUN (PS4)
Not being able to use the D-pad is kind of a deal breaker for me. For side-scrollers I need to be able to tap my way out instead of using the stick to create an arc. Of course I can arc my way out of trouble (quite well actually) but it's not how I want to do it, and deaths because of the limitations of forced controls aren't a good thing.system11 wrote:Um. How did you enjoy you time over on GAF btw? Saw you post in some of the COD:Ghosts threads (pre-PS4 release) and get savaged for even suggesting that you might be buying it.
To go "full-Plank" - colloquial - To experience disproportionate levels of frustration as a result of resistance to completing a task. Those who go "full-Plank" very rarely recover.
Re: RESOGUN (PS4)
It's not just that, apparently there is a bug in a game that lets you herd all the enemies of level together (in some later levels only) and then just overdrive them in single shot, which will rack you insane amount of points.charlie chong wrote:finally got the 1cc and have just under a 100 mill for my score.the guys at the top of the leaderboards must know some different scoring tricks cos i kept my chain up nearly the whole game, overdrived the asteroid boss etc..i have seen some human herding vids where the player keeps all humans alive till his multiplier is up and then saves them all once it's maxed. it looks fairly fiddly tho
This will probably be adressed in the patch, but it might also require resetting the leaderboards...

I played this once at a store kiosk.
It's a Defender-clone that's getting rave reviews because of it's superficial qualities. Seemed pretty bland, but I only played the demo.

Season pass sounds like the way to go. The multi-ball reference is intriguing.
