I take it you are referring to the slow sales of Ketsui?

Raiden is a big enough name that a digital-only release is relatively low risk. I don't see much of an issue there (though it is fashionably late).

As for Caladrius getting a full retail release, I definitely see your point. I am honestly (pleasantly) surprised that we are still seeing physical releases for shmups, if only in Japan.

Kudos for you Sugar Rush. The Ketsui port has sold so poorly that the next Bullet Soul is going to be released only on 360, for the moment.
Tha fan base is well etablished on Microsoft System so everyone that wanted the games already have them.
However is a good thing to see new releases of the genre that people with just a Ps3 will now be able to enjoy Raiden IV wich is IMO a good game.

If Overkill mode is different enough, I'd consider buying the game a second time. Raiden IV is solid. My only gripe is that the second loop makes the game too long. Should cut the second loop, steepen the difficulty curve a bit, and add a higher selectable difficulty for people who want it.

I hope Caladrius is on disc though. I think that anime artist has enough fans that Caladrius could do alright.

HELL YES!!!! Now I can finally play Raiden IV on my PS3. I pray that this new Overkill edition has some new stages and a couple of new original music tracks. Hopefully this will tide me over until Raiden V is announced.

Japanese PSN only, unless a US publisher picks it up (most likely UFO, as they handled Raiden III and the 360 version of IV).
