I never understood the demand for damage models. Seemed like a waste of programming resources to me when the regular driving physics still had so much more to go. The race should just end if your car is totaled, which usually should be the case after a typical 80mph crash. Or do folks want "get out of the car, go to the hospital, get reprimanded for destroying your car" aspects in a race simulation as well?
I also never got Gran Turismo's fascination with Skinner Box mechanics. Oil changes in a video game don't make much sense. If being pedantically accurate was the goal, why not force you to fill up gas, leave damage on your car, and force you to replace the car's transmission? There's a grey line between fun and work that Polyphony Digital seems to have lost track of.
That said, I'm still anxious for GT6 and am happy there's a trick for some easy money. If there's one aspect GT still dominates over the rest of today's racers on, I'd say it's the music and sound effects.

Re: Gran Turismo 6 Credit Glitch Found - Avoid Microtransact
I like to play racing games like shmups, ie getting the best lap time = getting a high score. In sim racers a damaged car is slower than a brand new one so one of the first things I do when playing is always turn damage simulation off.

Career modes are fun and all, but Time Attack is where's it at for me as well. Give me a good car and a fun track and I'll happily run it for hours on end.antares wrote:I like to play racing games like shmups, ie getting the best lap time = getting a high score. No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

If you have a sharp eye for detail, you'll notice that the YT poster of that GT6 glitch has a SCEE version of GT6. So this monetary glitch will work just fine with the SCEA retail version of GT6 as well? Fascinating way to get those expensive GT cars added to the overall garage/roster for free.antares wrote:A glitch has been found to get as many credits as you want thus avoiding the games microtransactions:

Only works if you own the retail version of GT6 as you need version 1.0 which you won't get when buying it from the PSN.
It's interesting to note that if you pre-ordered GT6 through the amazon.com site, it came with a 1,000,000 credit bonus DLC (worth a paltry $10.00 USD in real money as shown on the USA region PSN site). And if you d/l'ed the digital version of GT6 off of the USA region PSN site, it's a whopping 14.3GB sized file.
It's possible to use the old-school PS2 powered Driving Force wheel setup with GT6 just for kicks.

That's a very nice wheel indeed. I still use it occasionally to play Outrun 2 SP and the remake of Sega Rally which came with the japanese version of Sega Rally 2006 back then. Said remake was developed by M2 btw.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:
