Dezaemon 2 (saturn) report *NEW: I GOT SCAMMED!*

well i just got my mouse in the mail. and for those that are curious i figured i would post some impressions of its performance in Dezaemon 2.

well it is obviously much easier to draw in the Graphic Edit with a mouse (putting nipples on the Ramsie bosses now takes less than 2 minutes

). you have a better time doing the art and also having access to the palette and the tools at the top.

but the mouse acceleration is insanely fast. to do anything remotely consistent, i have to use the mouse with both hands (one controlling, and one steadying).

on top of it all. as i have only modest artistic talents and am not very familiar with pixel-art. it is going to take some time for me to cobble something together. when i get going with it, i will try to take some pictures with a digital camera and post my progress (if anyone is interested). now, where i will post the pictures on the internet, i have no idea.

Are you saving your work onto a memory card, or do you have a floppy disk drive?

And how are the games that come with Dezaemon 2? Anything worth more than just an example of what can be done with the tools?

i'm using the ram cart. not sure how the floppy disk drive works, but as far as i understand you need a RAM cart to save on. as far as the included games go, they are decent. however, if you are considering a purchase purely for the included games, i wouldn't waste the money, there are better games to be had.

the whole package (pre-made games and game-making tools) is an interesting product though. i should note though that the saturn version is less american-friendly than Dezaemon Kids on PS1 (or so I have been told). i have heard that DKids uses more graphics in the interface, so it is easier for non-japanese speakers to make games.

You cannot save directly to the Saturn Floppy Disk Drive. It requires a special boot-up disc that comes with it for you to transfer data from your Saturn memory banks to it. As far as I know you cannot transfer stuff from a memory cart to it... but all the options are in Japanese and I'm doing good if I don't format my floppy.
