I've never experienced Strider back in the day (almost did many times, but the US Genesis cover scared me away many times >_>), and I still have yet to get into this series I hear so freakin much about over and over and over (I don't doubt it'll be good, mind you. Just usually takes me some time to get into games). But I downloaded Moon Diver Demo on XBLA, cuase of knew Strider main creator is behind it, and I just had to stop playing before I could finish the Demo. Should I continue to keep giving this game a chance? As in, is this game any good? ... How good is it in comparison to him matching his Strider/Strider clone Arcade games of his past? Cause I kinda feel bad not supporting Mr. Strider creator, in a 2D game, in a time where 2D games need lots of support in a 3D era, by the guy who's a legend in 2D gaming... so it'd be great if this game was at least pretty decent. :)

I've heard bad things about Moon Diver, I highly doubt it's nearly as good as Strider or Osman.

Moon Diver had real potential, but it was ruined by Square-Enix's demand for the game to include RPG elements and 4P co-op.

*phew*, Ok, great. I though I was losing my mind for a sec. ... And SquareEnix was involved? Man, those guys really fell far from trying out anyting, including STGs, to only catering to casual gaming mass market appeal at any costs & a FF cloning factory.

Hey, anybody think the Genesis Strider cover looks like the guy from Full House? Reason I was tramatized in the past so many times from buying that game. Now I pass that horror onto you. :D

In Japan the game will be released both digitally and physically - nab the latter and you get some extra stuff. including the first two Strider games (though it's unclear whether they're on-disc or voucher codes to download separately).

Got a little time before this one comes out. I think I might get it (physical) even though it's not getting me all that hard.

It will be interesting to see if they do anything to fix PSX's Strider 2's slowdown problems.

A few more things:

1) Confirmed that the Strider 1 and 2 extras are indeed download codes.

2) Moreover, they are exclusive to the PS3 version - the PS4 edition won't have them.

3) If you really want to splurge, order the 120-buck LE (also PS3-only) from Capcom's store and get some other stuff.

Might just go LE since it's got some of the original games stuff in it.

Download codes? There goes any hope of an enhanced Strider 2, if it turns out they are the original PS1 versions. I was hoping it'd be possible to play S2 with cleaned up BGs and removed slowdown.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

This is exactly what I was hoping for.

Not very impressed by it. Looks much like many others now unless there's more to it than first glance

I hate that kind of stuff. I don't understan why they don't include them in the BR disc. Isn't there enough free room to be included? What a waste of BR. I was thinking on getting it but now I am not so sure.

Played the demo to Moon Diver and switched off. Bought Strider and carried on playing...

Also, I like Strider 2 on PSX. It's easier though...

I think I might have done this... I can't remember. Or maybe I was just really, really good at the game.

Those ninja reflexes sure came in handy... ;)

Nah, you credit fed it. ;3 Lots of people did on the PS, including a few prominent reviewers who slated it with the usual "too easy" (read: "I continued fifty times") nonsense. If Strider 2 sent you back to a checkpoint after every death like the shorter and easier first game it'd have been slated as "too hard" instead.

Yup, Strider 1 was the first arcade game I ever 1cc'd. Strider 2...haven't accomplished that yet. The last level (along with the boss) are wickedly hard. Good luck!

Maybe... I can't remember. I haven't played it in years. It's also not on the US/UK store to the best of my knowledge.

You 100% credit fed it, trust me on this. I just had a whole Strider trip a month back, and 1cc'd the original in only a handful of credits, several times over.

The second I'm yet to get the better of. The game is a pretty brutal 1cc, to the point where if you'd achieved it, you'd never ever forget!

Strider's final stage is where all of the deaths come into play, at any rate. Barring a few deaths in the amazon stage.

Strider's fifth stage has a few instances of Total Memoriser Bullshit™, but none are that hard to get under control. Not that grueling survival challenge is the game's strong suit anyway. It's all about performing the greatest interactive action movie ever seen.

True, true. I have yet to safely traverse the spiky-wall-of-death anti-gravity room. But this is all talk for the other Strider topic.

Strider is not a Sony game. It's on all platforms; however, physical release only on PS3 in Japan. I mainly posted this because of the screenshots.
