This worked, thank you! I would suggest you make this more obvious somehow for idiots like myself who start these projects at 1am and make assumptions.
I haven't tested with the SCART switch output, but I'm guessing the extra power will solve that problem as well. When I flipped the switch to the PSU, the red LED jumped in intensity – so I guess it was just underpowered.
