Playstation ps3 to Sony bvm/pvm
Currently I have my PS3 connected to my Sony BVM20E1U with component cables. It looks awesome, but out of curiosity is there a way to use RGB? I have tried to look this up online but its a bit confusing. This forums member know there stuff and i am sure you can help. Thanks in advance!

Why would that combination look awesome ? You don't get HD (because the monitor can't do it), you don't get 240p (because the PS3 can't do it) and you get terribly laggy emulation for PS1 games.
But to answer your question, yes you can use RGB with a standard Playstation RGB cable and a Scart to BNC breakout cable to connect it to the monitor, but it won't look any better than component.

I do this for Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix. I trade resolution for lack of input lag
I agree that most games look beter on my lcd. Thanks for your help!

In general yes, but there are IPS HD monitors out there with a mere 3ms of input delay. Would probably be a better choice for PS3 fighting games than a CRT.

Could you tell me what model that would be? I'm on the lookout for a gaming monitor.
I'm surprised at how good street fighter looks on a CRT to be honest though.

I believe he's mentioning a monitor like this, the Eizo Foris FS2333. It will set you back around close to $400 (USD) on Amazon, but has 3ms response time, plus good color saturation you might be looking for.brownvim wrote:Could you tell me what model that would be? Get an L5 or BVM D. Both can do 720P.
I on e hooked my L5 to a PS3. I was not too impressedby the results, all text on screen was unreadable for an example, but the games themselves looked alright.
If you can find a 24"/32" BVM D you have the perfect monitor for lagfree PS3 gaming since those models are 16/9 as well.

Luckily you only have to move that thing once. Not a big issue if you ask me.
