I'm about in that spot where I don't really feel the need to get any more consoles.

Got lots of PCBs on the brain though 8)

I already own most of the semi-recently-released systems, and most recently finally got myself a laptop that can play at least some lower-end games, so I'll be busy for quite some time before any new stuff on the market can build a library that could be a serious contender for my attention.

Wii U. I want to play The Wonderful 101, Monster Hunter, Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong, and Bayonetta 2 when it comes out. I'm just waiting for Nintendo to drop the price or put together some good bundles.

It will probably be a PS4. It's more attractive to me than the 360, and spending time with a PS3 reminded me just how right the Dual Shock feels in my hand. It will probably be at least a year after launch before I buy one, though.

maybe a Vita or 3DSXL

If the PS4 ever hits the $199 price point I may get one if the library has some games I like. Disaster Report 4 was the PS3 system seller for me, and that got canceled. Haven't missed not owning a current gen system one bit.

My likely next system is a Vita, at least when the second revision is released. I'll consider a PS4 at some point.
Unless I decide to buy a new Saturn first, but most of my games work in SSF, and I have a Saturn->USB controller adapter.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Yeah maybe a Vita 2000. The PSP sold me with its TV play and this can only be nicer.

Same as Trap I'm not really in the market for anything right now. I'll buy a PS4 eventually, but not until it has a library that appeals to me. Probably won't buy an Xbox One at all...

Gotta get a Vita, will probably be a 1st-gen model unless I can be convinced that a Vita 2000 is superior.

That reminds me, I need to pre-order the Ys Celceta LE ASAP.

I plan on picking up a Wii U this year, but it will mainly be a replacement for my Wii's kaput disc drive. TW101 is the only exclusive that appeals to me, since Bayonetta 2 will likely be ported to PS3 and 360 once the rights revert to Sega.

My trusty old Caanoo is a bit tired and quite outdated, so I'm going to get this baby:

The JXD 7800b, an Android-based gaming tablet. It's pretty high-end (RockChip 3188, 2GB RAM, 7" 1280x800 IPS), seems to be great at emulation, handling up to PS1/N64/NDS smoothly. $170 at Willgoo.

PS Vita - when the revision model goes on sale
Wii U - after the next price drop
PS4 - in a year or so, when there are more games out
PC Engine SuperGrafx - still need one to play my two games I own for it ^^

Don't think I'm gonna get any of the new consoles...

The system I want most is a PC Engine. But I don't have the courage to open that pandora's box. The library is full of games that are right along my tastes, most of them completely new to me. If I got one it might consume me. I spend more than enough time playing games as it is.

An Atomiswave would be pretty cool and the library is more... manageable. Maybe too much so even. Do I want to pay hundreds just to play a couple of games? Might have to pass up that one too.

A GB Light would be neat, though.

For current consoles, next is going to be a 3DS, and probably Wii U after that, once it has more games I want.

For older consoles, that plan of getting a Saturn is still a plan.

Upon opening that PCE themed Pandora's Box issue, a handy Turbo Everdrive flash cart is the perfect solution & will sate your appetite to try out the entire cool Hu-Card catalog of PC Engine shmups all on a slick tiny micro SDHC card setup. How cool is that?

Some of the classic PCE shmups like Gunhed/Blazing Lazers, Super Star Soldier, Soldier Blade, & Final Soldier are high caliber titles worth owning/playing. Emulation doesn't cut it if you want to play the real deal that available with the PC Engine/Turbo Grafx-16 consoles.

Back in the early 1990s, the very existence of a Turbo Everdrive cart would've been worth it's weight in gold and highly prized (as the need to use a Kisado or boxy Hu-Card convertor setup is rendered obsolete {if going the TG-16 console route} nor the need for a region modded PCE/TG-16 console isn't necessary anyways). A plain-vanilla (meaning region unmodded) PCE or TG-16 console is all you need + the aforementioned TE cart and you're good to go in that respective department.

Even trying out the holy grail of TTI's uber-rare Magical Chase on a PCE or TG-16 is doable (without the need to spend upwards of the three to four figure range for an original boxed and super mint TTI MC set).

Hint: it's still possible to scoop an original "barebones" TTI MC cart on the cheap if you scour your local pawnshops.

Turbo Express Factoid: It's doable to get some working UHF channels on an NEC Turbo Express handheld with the optional Turbo Vision TV turner adapter these days on the U.S. HDTV airwaves spectrum which still has a smattering of the old-school analog VHF/UHF channels regulated for emergency channels if it needed be (no such luck with the all-digital based European HDTV airwaves though). Tried using one of those HD digital to analog TV convertor setboxes with an Turbo Vision setup and it was no dice with the reception whatsoever -- just an all-black colored LCD screen comes up. Of course, your mileage will vary depending where you are in the USA for such TV signal reception in going with this particular TE + TV adapter setup. At the very least, the NEC Turbo Vision's A/V inputs still can be used for as a standalone TV display if so desired.

I don't buy game systems until at least their first hardware revision. Launch systems are inevitably flawed and inferior to the "slim" model. Also, at that point in the system's life cycle there actually are good games that I may even consider playing.

Whichever comes first out of:

PS4 getting a price drop
WiiU getting a steady flow of physical releases
Finding a Mega CD II at a reasonable price

Zero interest in Xbox One. Microsoft have done enough shite with forcing a tablet interface on desktop users for Windows 8 and now (from a work perspective) forcing companies to buy Office 2013 which is really fucking with our software development cycles.

i never bought an xbox 360 and got a ps3 5 years after it was first released. so far it looks like i'll be doing the same this gen, the wiiu and 3ds are enough to satisfy me with recent games for a long while.

Same here. I might be interested in purchasing a WiiU if Bayonetta 2 ends up good. If there was a way around the 3DS's region lock, I'd be picking up that, too. It's not gonna happen if I'm stuck with domestic releases, though.

I'm debating currently. I could easily go years collecting for the consoles I currently have. (My Collection is not massive. (yet.))

However, I really, really, really want that Sega Genesis/CD/32X abomination sitting in my home theater. Just because I've never owned any of them.
I also want a Jaguar / Jag CD.

(I have a thing for failed systems.)

And I really, really want a CMVS Slim.

Planning on a PS4, would preorder if they were available but if I can't get a launch one I'm really not in any huge rush.

I currently have a very nice looking Nomad on its way to me as part of my insurance claim. Should be in much nicer condition than the one that was stolen since it has an upgraded LCD, comes with the battery pack and the seller installed a new DC input jack at my request.

I was going to buy a Master System in town but someone beat me to it while I was preoccupied with moving into the new house. FDS and PCDuoRX are still on my list. Might get an SFC from a local friend at some point.

PGM has some stuff I'd like to get, so maybe that. Or a ST-V, but I already have the Saturn version of every game I want for that so it's low priority for now.

The upcoming multi player Mario 3D World might be alpha. There might be a version of Monster Hunter 4 down the line, or the mythical Persona 5. But in the meantime, 3DS is the master race. I'll have to go for 3DS, John.

I got a Duo-R last generation instead of a 360 (I asked myself, "These are both the same price. But which one would I end up playing more?").. and I got tons of play out of that thing. There's nothing like discovering a whole new library of 16-bit(ish) games when it's your favorite console generation.

Next gen I think I'll get into arcade boards. I'm kinda finishing off my Saturn collection right now.

Most likely a RetroN 5. My interest in XBone at this point is somewhere around -4 on a scale of 1 to 10, and PS4 is somewhere around a -8. I already have a Wii U, but don't use it much.

I don't see myself buying a PS4 or XBO ever. Interest in next generation gaming is below zero.

What caugh my attention was the anouncement of the PS Vita TV. If anyone hasn't heard of it yet, it's a mini console that plays Vita, PSP and PSOne games on your TV and will be released this November in Japan. Sounds interesting.
