What systems do you own?

Post by evil_ash_xero »

Updated

Currently trying to get some more mods done. I have to get my hands on a Rhea, for my other Saturn.
I need a backup Gamecube, but it's hard to find one that's new, and is also a 001. Well, a black one anyway.
It'll be a while before I get backups for more recent systems. I was going to get a white PS4, but now with the PS4 Pro coming out, I'm going to need to see what it does.
I'm still in awe that the Wii U hasn't come down in price. Jeebus.

Super Nintendo (US 1CHIP)
Nintendo 64 (US RGB-modded)
Gamecube (EU DOL-001 + JP DOL-001)
Wii (EU BC)
Game Boy Advance (2x AGB-001 + AGS-101)
DSi XL (EU)
3DS XL (US)
PlayStation 1 (US SCPH-1001 + US SCPH-101)
PlayStation 2 (EU v7 + EU v9 + EU SCPH-90004)
PlayStation 3 (EU fat, no BC)
PlayStation Portable (2x 3000 + Go)
PS Vita (3G)
Xbox (EU v1.2)
Xbox 360 (EU Jasper)

Plan to eventually get a Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, PlayStation 4, Nintendo, Wii U and maybe a doujindance modded PC Engine DUO-R.

Also need to get another PSP-3000, my current PSP's screen isn't looking so great (mainly because a small bit of plastic got loose inside it and without introducing the screen to lots of dust I can't get rid of it). Want a new 3000, but also want to see how a 2000 looks.

Sort of want to get a AGS-001 GBA, I think they have much better motion resolution than the AGS-101 and they shouldn't be too expensive.

Could probably get rid of my EU Gamecube, EU v7 PlayStation 2 and my old GBAs and PSPs, but I know of no one who wants them and they don't really sell for a decent price.

Only PC for emulators.

A few years back I came to the conclusion that my favorite shmups were for the arcades from the late-80s to mid-90s. Almost every single Megadrive shmup I 1cc it and I just found many console shmups to be too easy.

Ever since I ditch the consoles I'm pretty happy with my computer TATE setup.

PS2
X360
PSP
Wii
DSi (the DS probably doesn't count as mine anymore, my brothers have had it for a long time)
A NES/SNES famiclone

When I list them out, it's more than I thought. Most of them are in a drawer.

The PSP and DSi don't get a lot of use, but they don't take up a lot of space so they're not really anything I need to get rid of.

My years of wanting a shelf full of games and a spread of consoles in front of my TV are over. Emulation is damn good for anything 32 bit and prior and comes with a lot of benefits. (I do miss controllers, though) And I'm financially secure enough that if I feel like I have to play something on original hardware instead of emulation, I can buy it and let it go when it's time.

Because my penis size relies on it:

PS2 x2 (one dead original, one functional slim)
Wii x2 (one with a busted disc drive, one fully functional, sans all my WiiWare and VC stuff)
X360 x2 (see PS2)
NDS (original grey)
3DS XL
PSP x2 (first was stolen)

and... jeez, is that really it? I guess there's an old Genesis, PSX, gameboy, gba, and Gamecube somewhere in my parents' basement. Reminds me that I need to finish Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, and Burnout 2. Also, my penis is bigger than my collection implies.

Well, I've cut back due to lack of space, but right now at home I have (not all hooked up):

High-end gaming PC
Xbox 360 Slim
PS3 (Old model)
Wii
Wii U
GBA SP
DS Phat
3DS XL
PSP
Genesis
Dreamcast
Various smartphones/tablets (Kindle Fire HD, iPad 1, HTC Evo 4G LTE, etc.)

Other things I've had at some point that I've gotten rid of:
Original model Xbox 360 (Launch day system that somehow dodged the RRoD for 6+ years before I traded it in because I wanted a bigger hard drive and something that wasn't a ticking time bomb)
Gamecube
Xbox (In theory I still have it somewhere, but it's probably buried in the garage at my parents' house)
JP Saturn
JVC X'Eye
DS Lite
JAMMA cab (although I do still have my PCB collection from back when I had it)
A PS1 with a bad CD-ROM drive (garage sale freebie)
Sega Nomad
Gameboy Pocket
Quite a few older gaming PCs
We want you, save our planet!

Consoles:
PS2 [fat and slim, the fat has issues reading CD-ROMs, I added a swap lid to the slim]
PS3 [fat, gets stupid loud quickly, replaced the thermal paste and no dice]
Dreamcast [works better when upside down, tends to have occasional disc read errors with some of my games [notably, Crazy Taxi and Triggerheart Exelica] when right side up]
Wii [was actually my friend's, I thought I broke his and we traded Wiis, but I got it fixed stupid easily and we never traded them back [both were early model ones, so they read DVD-Rs, so I didn't bother]]
N64 [never bother using it anymore, probably going to sell the damn thing]
Saturn [US model 2, fried the drive controller or something installing a modchip [bridged a pin maybe? another friend of mine did the install], probably going to sell it as-is and maybe get a new one, although SSF works with 98% of my game collection at full speed, so I dunno...]

Handhelds:
GBC [the buttons are getting old and unresponsive though, 14 years of abuse will do that, haha]
GBA [original, got rid of my SP ages ago for some reason that I can't actually remember :P]
PSP [a 1000 and 2000, the 1000 is in atrocious shape, seems to have an internal shorting problem after having fallen onto it, the 2000 is fine though, I play the 2000 more than any other system I own]
Nintendo DS [fat, top screen cracked so you can't see most of it, some buttons outright don't work]
Nintendo 3DS [works perfectly, barely play it though...]

Phones/other:
Galaxy SIII [nice phone, but I don't feel like carrying around a PS->USB box everywhere and needing to use a controller to play things decently on it, especially since I'd need a third arm to hold the phone...]
Xperia Play [would be nice if it worked still, the Galaxy is much less useful due to the lack of physical buttons]
Two terrible, terrible laptops that have varying amounts of tape used to hold them together and are both useless for actual PC gaming [so, they're instead used for emulation].
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

I still haven't -- haven't played on the PS2 that much in a while, so it's been a bit out-of-mind. :P
Probably should do it eventually, the thing works just fine otherwise, and that fix sounds like it should solve the issue.
Although, I might just end up slamming an HDD into it and never using the disc drive ever again, haha.
