There's a good number of trap and futanari doujins that I'm looking forward to.

Actually going to Comiket really isn't very fun. I went to C83 and it kind of sucked. I can only imagine how much worse it is during the summer.

Thanks for saying this. I was tempted to go this summer. Not that I really want to go, but just for the experience and saying that I've been there at least once. I decided to go to the Summer Wonder Fest instead. I've got my bus tickets, so I'm going this weekend. Yay-ah. Looking at plastic models, garage kits, and anime figures is going to be much more interesting than a bunch of porn crap. I think I'd only get a kick out of maybe 15% of Comiket if I went, and that's being generous.

Agreed, I went last year and felt the same way. If you don't have something you are specifically looking to buy there's not much reason to go. Saw some hilarious Spiderman porn though, drawn by two cute Japanese girls. It was almost worth the trip just for that one major wtf moment.

This thread reminds me of three things:

1) Holy balls, it's time for Comiket again! It's amusing seeing the large surge of whatever content flood various trackers.
2) I have no idea what most of said content is (except pr0n).
3) I used to have a whole big bunch of now old webpages from JP artists saved as bookmarks. I should really check if some of those sites are still up.

Astebreed will be another trial. Revolver360 Re:Actor was supposed to be finished, but a hard drive crash delayed the game until who knows when. This Comiket is very barren in terms of new complete STGs. It's all trials. Unless you count Touhou 14.

The only things I'm looking forward to are Yakouga 6 and the Akashicverse Fandisk.

With Touhou 14 coming out I doubt any other doujin dev will want to release anything other than trials. That thing will overtake the entire place and will give little space to something else.

edit: I'm wondering wtf is Studio Siesta doing. Taking the long "siesta"... They had that mech game shmup seemingly read, where is it, jeez.

I need to check out what's coming out music-wise. Hope to see some STG arrange albums that aren't Touhou.

Siter Skain will be there too, but I don't think they've revealed what they'll be selling yet; probably another trial of Heavy Dragoon Arms, though. ...I'm not sure if I have that title right.

Aw :(

Guess it's just Double Dealing Character and Himeno☆Striker for games and loads of the weirdest porn they have to offer for me then.

I think every geek should experience it once just to see what it's like. But like ACSeraph said, it's only "really" worth going if there's stuff that you want to get. Otherwise, I would advise going to one of the winter ones, since in my opinion such events are more tolerable in cold weather.

Hm...not that I've been to a Comiket yet (or Japan itself, for that matter) but personally the main draw of Comiket/similar, in my mind at least, wouldn't be to get there and buy releases you know will be there. If an artist is popular enough, I imagine there are other places to purchase the stuff, albeit later on.

What interests me more is the unknown - surely there must be some really talented artists/game creators out there that gets overshadowed by the bigger circles. I would like to go at least once, not to hunt for popular stuff, but rather seek out hidden gems. That usually turns out more fascinating in my book. Any widely known release snagged would be a plus, but I imagine the queues would be pretty bad.

----
While we're on the subject, out of interest/jealousy for those of you attending, anybody have any links to good (and not akward news reporter-style) movies about the event?

For example, I remember one where they filmed setting up the tables & doing preparations as well as interviewing the guys doing the deliveries from the printers and other behind the scenes things. It was pretty interesting. Can't seem to find it now, tried both youtube and nico.

Sure, at an often ridiculous mark-up, depending on just how popular an artist is.

Good luck with that. I don't think you realize just how massive Comiket really is. If you go there without planning ahead of time what it is you're looking for and where it's located (and on which day), it is going to take a very long time and a lot of walking to see everything that's on offer. On top of that, the stuff that's available is completely different each day, and stuff is guaranteed to sell out before you'll be able to see everything.

Interesting, I imagined the prices would go down, unless it's a specifically rare or exclusive release, since they would be older. Though I suppose since the stock at the event is limited both in quantity and time, before the event closes for the day(s), that might be *the* time to pick up whatever release before the resellers do their thing.

Certainly, seeing the entirety of Comiket is a fools errand, we can agree on this point

Speaking of, any news on the new Windom game (Windom SV)? I thought it was supposed to be released on this summer (Comiket?) but I haven't heard any more news ever since.

My god. It's amazing the visuals indie developers can churn out from their bedrooms these days.

Though I imagine if I understood Japanese the non-stop yak yak in the background as I'm memorizing stages would drive me insane.
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

Gatling cat also looks quite interesting i just wish doujin developers would try something fresh instead of the little cutey school girl wielding a sword look
