Wonder what would be the best combination of fighters to use for Special mode? :|

Ok, just making sure, the ST thread says this:
At the player select screen, your fighter's capability is determined by which button(s) you press to pick your craft:

A Button - Strong shot, weak option
B Button - Strong option, weak shot
C Button (or A+B on a 2-button cab) - Strong option & shot, slower speed
Start Button - Weak option & shot, faster speed
While World of Arcades says this: http://www.world-of-arcades.net/R8zing/ ... rets_1.htm

Which one is it? I'm guessing the ST thread is right and there really is no way to power up bombs.

It's definitely shot/option/both/speed.

I'm not going to change it now... but I do think I should have kept the first score I came up with for it (2m). Not a huge difference, but it's enough.

For those struggling with the game or trying to come up with a good team, I annotated up my 2.9m run explaining a lot of my choices and some of the secrets. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygl8hyKyZt8

So, why are we playing a game mode where what levels you get are entirely random and change on every boot-up?

Because with proper planning, you should be able to handle every possible order without too much effort. Besides, there's only 3 randomized stages, everything within those is 'set'. And the 5th stage boss shouldn't be random because you should be fighting all 3 anyways. If you can't handle Envy, then you only have to reset once stage 2 starts anyways since the only 'set' boss in stage 5 is determined by the second stage. If you can't handle Blunt or Sobut, sorry, practice more. They're easy.

Wait, don't you always fight all 3 in Special anyway?

Also I managed to switch the region but I'm still iffy on how I did it. You just hold ABC during boot until the screen reloads and then it's in the other region setting? I was expecting there to be some value to toggle on a menu.

Pretty sure you just can't.

Doesn't seem like it, unless you fight the secret bosses between the first st5 boss and the rest?

You have to hit left or right to change the region one you do the ABC boot.

European ROM doesn't have the easy shot frequency things. Maybe the Korean one does? I haven't played around enough to know.

In boss rush mode, if you do not have a batrider ship alive you just fight the "stage 2" ST5 boss. If you do, you will fight up to all three as long as that remains true. No special power up stuff.

Hm, on my last run I fought only Sobut and Blunt (not complaining), not sure why Envy wasn't triggered.

Did your batrider ship die on Blunt?

You rock for picking this Trap15, and the alternate settings are great. I actually feel like I am slowly understanding this beast of a game.

Picking a ship is still the hardest part of each run. Wild Snail is in for sure, and Strawman is pretty good with that wide Weapon.

I guess it must have, I was pretty sure I finished him off with a batrider ship though? Oh well just keep playing I guess.

Edit:

Grubby is still the rudest bitch. Have yet to put in any runs on my better setup at home, still haven't decided if I'll commit to the whole tourney for sure. My performance this week will be a factor I suppose.

My god, so many hidden bosses in the last run. I was at Sobut, and he was my 9th boss.

On the Japanese version, you can raise and lower the auto-fire with Start+A and Start+B respectively.

EDIT: I feel bad for doing this, but I'm going to raise the GET to 2,000,000 tomorrow morning. 1.75m is too easy.

So is Bashinet Mk2 just a complete trainwreck of a boss or is there something I'm not getting. I've never understood what the hell the game expects of me when that guy walks up.
