Sony PVM-2950 Monitor ?

Might be getting a free Sony PVM-2950 monitor today in perfect shape.
What are these worth these days and are they a good monitor for retro gaming?

top of the line presentation PVM. The last model available and usually much harder to find than the older ones (2730 etc). Very nice picture quality, soft scanlines. Your sources require a clean sync signal to work on those.

I have an PVM-2950QM, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-Oowk-O2xM unfortunately his needing an few geometry correction in the corners, but i will need to find a technician to do that ias m unable to do that myself because of my lack of knowleadge

I had the little brother to that model, the 2530.

Image quality was amazing. Perfect for vintage gaming hardware. As for geometry I adjused my set by opening it up and fiddling with the pots on a inside board. Better be careful with those though.

That is heavy, but it's not that heavy for even 25" screens. Strangely, the 2950 and the 2530 seem to weigh the same amount.

I bought a PVM-2530 from a fellow member, I got it for $150 (including shipping). The monitor enclosure isn't in very good shape but the picture is still perfect w/ no burns. Looking back I feel lucky that I got it shipped to my door step; must people will only accept local pickup.

Yep, thats how I got mine, had to go there and pick up a 2530 alone haah.
Anyway, I love this thing, but I want to adjust the pots.

Anyone know where I can get the service manual or some detailed info on how to adjust the pots?

How do I get a cross hatch on the screen if there is no service mode?

Thanks a lot, this is my second PVM but my first one was barely used and still looks amazing.
