Recommended BNC cables at a good price?

Post by Seraphic »

Hi,

Could anyone recommend a online shop that sells high quality cables at a good price?
I checked Monoprice and Amazon, but could not find what I needed.

I need one 15FT three prong male RCA Component to three prong male BNC
Also need one 15FT male VGA to five prong male BNC.

For RCA to BNC, get a standard component cable and add adapter plugs.
BNC to VGA is really easily available on ebay and usually quality's absolutely alright.

In that case, looks like these adapter plugs should do nicely then: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TK ... AOBSW0CZDL

For the BNC to VGA on ebay, as far as name brand/price goes, I found these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4m-13ft-ATLONA- ... 2ebf2e133b
However, it is only 12FT and is looks to be discontinued from the manufacture. http://www.atlona.com/ATLONA-VGA-TO-RGB ... CABLE.html

Atlona never manufactured anything, they're just relabling china stuff. Honestly, just get any cable you can find in your desired length.

For a three prong 3FT BNC to BNC, if it's cheaper to buy a component cable and stick BNC adapters on both ends of each prong, would that be a good idea?

Even so, if there cables are selling for a low price, good buy?
The other two I see a lot on ebay are Python (low price) and Cables 2 Go (expensive!)

works just as well. BNC to RCA adapters are less solid than RCA to BNC ones though.

sure.

I was going to order 20 of these: http://www.monoprice.com/products/produ ... 1&format=2
But based on what you said, maybe two of these?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-10-ATLON ... 33796190e8

When you say "less solid", more prone to wear and tear damage?

those are PERFECLTY fine.

When I said "less solid", I was refering to the other way around, when you adapt a BNC cable to male RCA. That's why should not buy BNC cables when you need RCA on one end. You can always buy RCA cables, no matter if you need RCA or BNC on the ends.

Oh, alright. Thanks! :D

Also, could you recommend a good Audio Distribution Amplifier?
(one RCA audio input and at least four RCA audio outputs)

use your Crosspoint. Get those phoenix plugs and make some adapters on your own.

My crosspoint is the non-audio model HV (not HVA).

I don't see any problems in audio routing, so I guess any audio switch will do what you need it to do. Zero experience with that so though. My amp has like 12 analogue stereo inputs.
