Yes. The external drive is that new Xbox infinity (has bluray capability though)

Edit: well I hope Cave isn't staying on Xbox for next-gen, because tonight conference didn't convince me in the least. Xbox live seems awesome...that is if you leave in the US. Games you buy are install discs not anything else. Games can be always online if the devs need some more computation done for your game done on the serverside. no backward compatibility and none planned whatsoever. etc (and probably no crazy japanese exclusives like on early 360.))
Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
I don't know if the Ketsui release on PS3 should be interpreted as a sign of change and that Cave is turning to Sony for its upcoming releases (if there will be any).
Clearly the Xbox One is a console made in the US for the US market. The 360 managed somehow to position itself in Japan as a niche platform, but I don't see that happening with all the paraphernalia attached to the Xbox One. It will probably miserably fail in Japan... Take away all the entertainment part and both the PS4 and Xbox One are on par hardware wise.
So let's hope (or simply dream) that Cave releases a "Cave Anthology" on PS4... Because I've been really disappointed with what I'vethis afternoon.

I don't see how trolling the Xbox One (or the conversation before it) has anything whatsoever to do with "DoDonPachi Saidaioujou" on the Xbox 360. Are there no mods here?
Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
Well, this could be true if only CAVE was the publisher for the Ketsui port.geekmiki wrote:I don't know if the Ketsui release on PS3 should be interpreted as a sign of change and that Cave is turning to Sony for its upcoming releases (if there will be any).

Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
Yeah, it's interesting that the Xbox 360 was the console Cave went with despite its lower popularity in Japan... it is supposedly easier to develop for than the PS3 is, no idea if that's the reason or if it's because they were given financial incentive by Microsoft...? I agree that I hope Cave decides to port their stuff to a console that isn't DRM burdened, Japan has a very good track record of gaming-focused consoles, so all they need is for the PS4 to not suck and have some good publishers jump ship from the Xbox and its clunky "isn't Kinect FUCKIN' AWESOME?!!?!111one" shift in attitude. The Xbox with its console updates plastering ads everywhere and the whole Kinect thing really was a sign of its downhill slide...geekmiki wrote:I don't know if the Ketsui release on PS3 should be interpreted as a sign of change and that Cave is turning to Sony for its upcoming releases (if there will be any).

Cross your fingers and hope the Ketsui thing means we'll see more of Cave on another console (one that's not region locked either, which the PS4 won't be as far as I'm aware??).
As long as they're solid ports, I'd be fine with other publishers porting their stuff as long as it means CAVE gets to stay in business!emphatic wrote:Well, this could be true if only CAVE was the publisher for the Ketsui port.

Too bad you won't be able to play SDOJ on Xbox One because there's no backwards compatibility.Zurcamos wrote:Can we please talk about "DoDonPachi Saidaioujou" on Xbox 360 now?

I joke, I think you're right and that post was pointless.
I'm pretty pumped for SDOJ. I know people are whining about all the silly extras, but I think that stuff is fun and keeps you coming back for more.
I recently picked up MMP/PS, and I'm a bit disappointed that there isn't more "stuff" in there. I mean ... there are two complete and distinct games, so there is that, but compared to the single game releases like Akai Katana, DFK or even Deathsmiles, it seems a bit sparse.
SDOJ looks like it will have lots of extra content, but I'm also sad that there will be no localization. It was very cool when, in Deathsmiles for example, I could finally read the dialog. And the story bits in DFK are vaguely interesting.
That reminds me, I keep meaning to post an RQ in the strategy thread for a translation of the random bits of dialog in MMP ...

Trollers beget trollers I guess.
In related news, this game is going to help force me update my UVC Jamma box. Gotta put some more bells and whistles on it, and put it in a prettier/smaller-form box.

Yeah, considering Akai katana only has 3 modes, two of which also have novice versions. I'd agree with mmp/ps having far more.NTSC-J wrote:"There isn't more stuff"?! So what version of this did everyone order? I ordered the Super Limited Version because I like extra large cardboard boxes and stickers that I will never stick to anything. I am also a highly financially irresponsible person...

Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
I always think it's a bit unfortunate when a game has a lot of extra modes that get neglected for the more popular ones (generally the arcade-style modes). There are some really great Arrange modes that Cave has released that really need more love (DFK Arrange A, Espgaluda Arrange, etc). It's great that MMP/PS had a lot of modes available... but how many people put a lot of time into each one?AntiFritz wrote:Yeah, considering Akai katana only has 3 modes, two of which also have novice versions. I'm actually in favour of only one or two extra arrange modes, but with more time spent ensuring they're well thought out (I've never played MMP/PS for the 360, so I have no idea if the extra modes are awesome or not). A bit worried about SDOJ as so far the reception to the new mode seems to be rather mixed to say the least.
I haven't ordered yet... I'd like to, but I want to wait for a physical release so that someone can verify which versions are indeed region-free (or aren't), just in case something like Galuda 2 happens where one release actually isn't region-free for some reason.ACSeraph wrote:So what version of this did everyone order? Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
OT but Pink Sweets arrange mode is seriously better than the main game. But in that case it also feels like it was just the main game done the right way.
DFK on the other hand had that really awesome score attack arrange mode where the backgrounds and stuff changed every two seconds. It felt like something completely different from the main game rather than just an alternate scoring system. Id love to see that come back for SDOJ.

I ordered the LE because I already own the SDOJ/Maximum OST (thanks once again, rancor!) and I'm fine with having a smaller art book. I can't wait to play this game and I'm really curious about the changes that they made in version 1.5ACSeraph wrote:So what version of this did everyone order? Actually, the colour changes only when you do something specific (which kind of bee you collect affects it) so you can actually control it. It's used to raise either the bullet speed or bullet density (or both!) which saves after you beat the level so you can replay it over and over to raise the rank, which gives more bullets to cancel in future runs.ACSeraph wrote:DFK on the other hand had that really awesome score attack arrange mode where the backgrounds and stuff changed every two seconds.
Espgaluda 2 has a mode like this as well where the rank from your last run carries over to your next run, so you have to replay it more to give yourself more bullets to cancel in Kakusei.

Regular for me. I added Shooting Love 10th Anniversary (XIIZEAL & ΔZEAL) to the same order too.ACSeraph wrote:So what version of this did everyone order?
I felt it was slightly easier too, with the extends given at every 10mil, and once you landed a bomb at a group of enemies to get to x64 multiplier, you could keep shooting at énemies to keep the score going. <3ACSeraph wrote:OT but Pink Sweets arrange mode is seriously better than the main game. Yeah, it seems like everywhere I look, I'm being told it's region free, except some people here. It scares me enough to keep me from ever finishing a transaction. ...And yet, if it is region free, I'll feel like it was silly to worry and miss out on the other editions and/or spend more and/or wait longer to play.
