this problem is limited to the ps2 for some reason. Its a 4:3 TV (KV-29F1U) and as soon as the ps2 is plugged in with RGB cables (works fine with composite) the tv switches to 16:9 mode, and even through the options menu wont change back to 4:3. Has any1 else had this problem? i know the tv can display an RGB signal in 4:3 because my xbox 360 does it fine AND when the ps2 is on and i change the channel, the picture goes to 4:3 for a split secound before changing channels.

thanks for fast reply, gunna do it now- how did you know about this? and what does it actually do? (is pin 8 what sends the aspect ratio or?) thanks again will post back when iv done it
yes, pin 16 switches the TV to RGB and Pin 8 tells the TV about the aspect ratio. On the Sony RGB cables the voltage is too high, so the TV switches to 16:9. If you disable Pin 8, it should remain in 4:3.
If your TV can be set to RGB manually you can disable Pin 16 as well, if not then you still need Pin 16.
