PVM question(s)

Post by cathoderaze »

Hey everyone! Im new to the forum and my friend is in Japan right now getting me a Saturn. This has me wanting a PVM badly. I live in the US so Im new to all this RGB and Scart business. There are a couple for sale near me. A PVM-14N2U for $50 as well as a PVM-14M2U for $225. :? Just curious as to which is a better monitor. As well as the age of each. Is $225 insane for the PVM-14M2U? Thank You and Im glad to be a part of the forum!

The M2 is 600 lines.
The N2 is (I think) 500 lines.

The M2 accepts RGB and I'm sure the N2 only accepts composite and S-VHS.

The price of the M2 is steep in my opinion. I picked up a 14" M4 (800 lines and RGB) for around £40 in the UK, but it is all about what's available in any given area at any one time.

The M4 is an awesome monitor and worth picking up if you can find one.

Personally I would hold out for a better deal if I were you.

I had a feeling the M2 was better and overpriced haha. Thanks for all the info! I'll keep an eye out for an M4 for a good price. 800 lines is sounding really nice.
