I'm looking for a good all-purpose 24 inch LCD/LED monitor that meet the following specs:
* Good viewing angle, as it's mainly for movie watching - that removes TN panels from the list I guess?
* Reasonable input lag - It's not going to be used for gaming primarily, but I don't want something with obvious lag
* HDMI and VGA
* No ghosting issues
I've been looking at this (I've found one for £150) but I can't find a single online review. Does anybody have any experience with this model?

Can anybody recommend a 24" monitor for around £100-£160?

Hi.. I'm not buying soon, but I was looking here, you might find it of interest:
http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/
I don't know if any of them "tate". i know u said no games but still nice option to have so here is one that does though its 23" not 24", and was recommended recently in another thread:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-UltraSharp ... s=dell+lcd
If you don't need tate a few of them on the displaylag site were great prices and a few of them i looked at also available on amazon uk
heres a few of the top ones on that display site, not personal recommendations though:

tft central also
tbh I'm not sure there really are any monitors out there that are IPS (for the viewing angles), low lag, and 24" or above, at that price.
I wasn't able to find a good web page for data, but apparently the Samsung you linked is a TN panel ("LED" lol, that's the backlight type). TN doesn't provide good viewing angles.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I probably should've emphasised the fact that it's really not for me so tate and near-zero lag isn't much of an issue. It's for my girlfriend and although she plays games, she's not going to flip out if she can't consistently hit one frame links in Vampire Saviour.
All I want to avoid are those crazy displays that have two or three frames of lag or more.
I'm shocked at how difficult it is to find a decent monitor. The Dell UltraSharp series would be perfect, but Dell's insistence on sticking with DisplayPort over HDMI is a problem.

If she's not into gaming, then 2+ frames won't matter either. What monitor does she use right now ?
If you consider a TN panel, she should look at one first.
Dell's monitor all have DVI which is 100% HDMI compatible and still the best connection for any PC. Displayport is optional and certainly not required for use.

Sorry, I'm massively ignorant with regards to DVI. So a simple DVI to HDMI adapter would act identically to natively displaying through HDMI? Sound, resolution, etc...
You're probably right about the lag thing. Maybe my own display preferences are coming through.

the video signal is the same - incl. HDCP protection for PS3 or Blu Rays on a PC. DVI usually does not carry sound though. But then again those monitors don't have sound anyway.Sorry, I'm massively ignorant with regards to DVI. So a simple DVI to HDMI adapter would act identically to natively displaying through HDMI?
