What is the hardest or most impressive feat in SHMUPS?

As the title asks, what do you guys consider the hardest or most impressive feat/achievement in all SHUMPS? Excluding new World Record scores of course.

Small edited list after these were repeatedly posted, as far as clears go:

1cc Futari Ultra (1.01)

Image Fight, 2 loops penalty area (autofire off?)

DOJ Death Label Clear

I haven't played all of the shmups out there, but these are pretty tough and I'm sure most people know about the Futari Ultra Last boss on youtube titled "Hardest video game boss ever" with around 4 million views.

What do you think?

I'm curious of hearing arguments why DOJDL would be harder than say Futari Ultra (might as well say 1.0(1) when we're at it). It's extremely short (the first loop can be ignored since it's so easy), and even then a lot of it comes down to precise safespots.

not a good criterium. there are things barely anybody has bothered with, which is why only very few people have done it. such as PoFV 90 fps clear with komachi. all of 2 people have done it to my knowledge, even though it's something a lot of palyers could do.

I don't know about hardest, but I think clearing crimzon clover unlimited with type-I would be really fucking impressive.

True. We could go many directions with this, but I was more focusing on a feat people would LIKE to do, but cannot due to the difficulty + time commitment.

I agree if we include oddball feats like pacifist runs and the one you state, but if we go by standard 1CC / ALL runs we should be able to narrow it down to games that have a sizable attempts at them.

I'm not knowledgeable in this area but hasn't both the DOJ Death mode and Futari Ultra 1.01 only been done by a single person each? (both taking around 5 or 6 years) Is there any feats left to be beaten?

I think I read that doj death label had been done by someone else after mon. Still only 2 or so people though.

Has Muchi Muchi Pork Arcade (PCB/1.00) even been 2-All'd with all 3 characters? Last I've seen it mentioned, one of them didn't have a 2-All score in Arcadia.


But outside of that, it's got to be the Ultras, Pink Sweets, DOJ WL 2 loop. DOJ DL as well, but that's pretty much the definition of what some people would call memotrash. And good luck memorizing it when 1 mistake sends you back to the start during the loop.

Ketsui Ura is tough too. In fact, I'd consider it probably harder than DOJ WL.

That really depends. A clear can be challenging, getting the best score can be challenging, putting other limitations on yourself can be challenging. If we're talking simply clears, Image Fight both loops via Penalty Zone. No cheating with autofire of course.

Theres guys round here who have beaten Project-X and Blood Money. Not only did they persevere again extreme difficulty, but also extreme boredom and awfulness. It takes a special kind of player to beat a bad game. I'd like to see someone do Hell Bent.
