So I play the game of life unlike I play my shmups. I creditfeed it to the max.

I mean, you are all on your own. Just you against overwhelming odds. It's a lone wolf mission every time. Difficult situations come up, and you may have the resources to back you up, but once they are gone, it takes a while to get those resources back.

Also, playing with someone else sounds fun at the start, until you realise it screws up the scrolling and kills scoring... You end up getting hit by things you would have breezed past on your own. It's fun for a bit but you know your not playing the game properly - you're just distracting yourself. You end up paying for their credit, and usually they game over before you, so just pump some more money in there.

As I explained to Skykid last year, Life is a game of Darius.

Life is about choices.
Making good choices.
Good well-informed choices.
Its a Darius run.
Do I go up for the higher scoring more difficult run?
Do I go down for a lower scoring easier run?
Or do I zig zag through the middle like the Artful Dodger?

Do the research. Think outside the box. Make the well informed choices, & you will get that high SCOAR.

Life is a bullet hell shmup.

At first it seems like an overwhelming challenge, but then you calm down and realize that 90% of the bullets you worry about aren't even aimed at you.

When those bullets get too close for comfort, you suddenly realize that yes, you can take it, because it turns out your hitbox is smaller than your sprite.

What's more, the closer you examine them, the more you realize those bullets have hitboxes, and they aren't nearly as big and scary as they looked at first.

Finally, you realize the fact that since the bosses are aiming for you, you're actually in control of the situation and where those shots will end up is for you to decide.
