Nightmare Fuel
We've all seen them. Those disturbing abominations of art that pierce into our very souls. They frighten us, yet they are somehow fascinating. They offer us a glimpse into the dark side of an artists mind. I hereby dedicate this thread to nightmarish images of a disturbing nature.
edit: so yeah... post disturbing shit here.

I'm checking the file type on all of these to make sure no one is sneaking a gif in there.

(The really gross part about it is how he has anthropomorphic human arms..... ew...)

Anyone here frequent the SCP wiki? Essentially a creepy story compendium, it delivers its tales in a manner reminiscent of folkloric traditions, open source collaboration and the deliberately dry writing style of Danielewski. One of the best uses of the Internet as a medium in telling stories.
I recommend starting with this entry http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1981
simply because it's one of my favourites, then clicking on the top rated entries tab and going wild. Just don't expect to sleep tonight :p

First picture in the story itself. The rest are fairly normal hellish images.

Uh, there's a famous surrealist painting that used to give me nightmares after I saw it at a local exhibition.
I'm just going to post a link to it because it contains nudity, although I don't think anybody would find it erotic.
It's probably not that bad for adults, but to my 10 year old mind it was a bit much.

Garfield is pure nightmare fuel!
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.
An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.
Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

I would love to see the behind the scenes making of that shot, where blueman group actors in armor ride horses painted blue.Ed Oscuro wrote:Heh, the armors themselves are nightmare fuel but also awesome fuel at the same time

Totally off-topic, but there aren't any sources for Sugar Hill online. Not the version of your avatar though - websites like this make me laugh (confusing the 1974 film - how did it get a PG rating? - with the 1993 release)
Re: Nightmare Fuel
I had 2 of these as a kid and I still remember. First off, I saw Boxcar Bertha at the drive-in with my parents (doh, why??) and the crucifixion scene stuck with me for years. I can't find a good pic of this though.
The second, the parents were watching Gargoyles on TV and I got out of bed for a drink or something and walked thru as the monster was coming out from under(?) the bed.
Both of those fucked me up for years..

Now that you bring it up, one Halloween Jim Davis did make a series genuinely creepy Garfield strips.Mischief Maker wrote:Garfield is pure nightmare fuel!
Here's a link to a blog about it:

I remember reading these when I was in 3rd grade and really thinking that Garfield made up Odie and Jon as a way of dealing with being so lonely.
Re: Nightmare Fuel
Hieronymous Bosch and Francisco Goya's black paintings. Some choice selections...
Feedback will set you free.
